SERAPHIC was suited by the emphasis on speed when recording a first hurdles win on these shores at Stratford recently, but he still did well to come from last and looks capable of defying a 6 lb higher mark providing this doesn't come too soon just 11 days on. Gallivanted should strip fitter for his recent run and make more of an impact in this weaker affair, while Zafaan shouldn't be judged too harshly on his latest effort on the level and remains of interest back over hurdles.

Fair form in bumpers and made a winning start to his hurdle career in 2m Uttoxeter novice in May. Found out under a penalty in a better race there a fortnight on though, and now goes handicapping from what looks a stiff opening mark.
Gallivanted (FR)
Changed hands for 70,000 gns and landed a Musselburgh maiden hurdle in February and back on the up when third on handicap bow at Ascot. Doubled his tally on the level at Goodwood in May and shaped as if needing the run back in this sphere after 5 months off at Chepstow recently. This is easier.
Caelan (IRE)
Won 2m maiden hurdle at Worcester last September and in the frame several times after for Olly Murphy. Virtually refused to race on the Flat during the summer but showed promise on first outing for new stable after 3 months off when third of 6 at Market Rasen (17f) recently.
Zafaan (IRE)
Hold-up performer who finally broke his duck in this sphere in 2m handicap at Worcester in September and barely needed to come out of second gear to follow up back on the level at Wolverhampton. Latest run probably best overlooked having proven too free under an amateur. Remains of interest.
Takeit Easy
Veteran who is on a long losing run but probably needed his comeback run at Market Rasen 11 days ago. This will reveal more.
Seraphic (IRE)
Recorded a first hurdles win on these shores after 6 months off in 7-runner handicap at Stratford (19f, good to soft) 11 days ago, suited by the emphasis on speed but doing well to come from last all the same. Looks capable of defying a 6 lb higher mark.
Al Mootamarid (IRE)
Fair 1¼m Flat winner who opened his account in this sphere at Worcester (2m) in June 2025. Mostly respectable efforts since, including when 8¾ lengths fourth of 7 to reopposing Seraphic at Stratford (19f) on most recent outing, needed stronger gallop. Not taken lightly in a first-time visor.
Blackwater Lilly
Sole hurdles win came for Brian Ellison at Bangor in May 2025. Shaped as if still in good form when fifth of 6 at Warwick (19f) on most recent outing, though flattered to deceive all the more. Cheekpieces back on.
