PURE MINT showed something like his debut form at the second attempt when finding only one too good on nursery bow at Nottingham 4 weeks ago, pulling nicely clear of a next-time-out winner in the process. He could well be the answer under Oisin Murphy, with Arthur Carrot and Henley On Thames just 2 potential dangers in what is a competitive affair.

A decent pace still shouldn’t detract from the chances of those who race on or near the front end such as Pure Mint: The forecast decent pace still isn’t likely to sway the advantage towards those usually ridden further back such as is Arthur Carrot.

Impressive when making a winning start at Ripon (6f) in July and having had excuses under a penalty at Ascot next time, he resumed progress when second on nursery debut at Nottingham (6f) 4 weeks ago. Raised 3 lb on the back of that but very much of interest again.
Thames Waterman
Knew his job and justified good support when scoring on debut at Wolverhampton in April. Off 5 months/gelded, proved a class apart when following up under a penalty over 6f there last month. Seemingly not 100% when well held in listed company at Redcar but this more suitable now handicapping.
Treasurer (IRE)
Showed improved form when making it third time lucky in a Salisbury novice (6f) in June. Hasn't scaled same heights in stronger affairs since, latterly when eighth in valuable sales race at the Curragh (6.3f) 45 days ago. This more suitable now handicapping with cheekpieces retained.
Sovereign Glory
Off the mark at the second attempt in a 5f Bath novice in May and improved on nursery debut when making the frame at Glorious Goodwood (6f). Hasn't kicked on the last twice, though, tenth of 17 in sales race at Doncaster (6.5f) 7 weeks ago. This his least demanding assignment to date.
Henley On Thames (IRE)
Good-looking Persian Force colt who followed up his Hamilton maiden victory on nursery debut at York (6f) in August. Ran well when fourth at Doncaster (6f) thereafter, his early keenness seemingly taking its toll late on. Fancied to be competitive again on polytrack debut.
Conciliate (IRE)
Off the mark at third attempt in an Ayr maiden (6f) in July and having faced a stiff task next time, quickly resumed progress switched to nurseries when keeping on for second at Yarmouth (6f) 6 weeks ago. Nudged up 2 lb on the back of that but a repeat should see him go well again.
Lord Ragnar (IRE)
Much improved on his third outing when making a successful all-weather debut at Newcastle (7f) in June. Finished runner up on 2 of his 3 starts in nurseries thereafter prior to finishing mid-field in Curragh sales race 45 days ago. Career-high mark to defy back in a handicap.
Arthur Carrot
Perfect Power colt who hails from a stable going well and he duly improved on his qualifying efforts when second on nursery debut over 7f here last week, racing freely and unable to put it to bed late on. Step back down in trip will hold no fears and he's well worth considering.
