Timeform View

The market should reveal plenty here but the vote goes to French recruit MERRY WOOD who looked a good prospect when making a winning start for Olly Murphy in a Huntingdon bumper in the spring. Fellow hurdling newcomers Galaxy Star and Another Vega are also in very good hands and bring potential so command plenty of respect. Milly Ocean completes the shortlist.

Timeform Comments

Briery Bluebelle
Had a breathing operation before a much-improved second of 10 in bumper at Southwell 7 months ago on her final run for Noel Williams. Very much one to consider on yard/hurdling debut.
Crimson Ocean
Well-related Crystal Ocean filly who showed promise when in the frame in bumpers at Wetherby and Sedgefield (6/5) last season. One to consider on her hurdles debut.
Dolly Drama (IRE)
Mahler filly who made the frame on her 2 bumper runs last season before starting out over hurdles with a fading fourth of 7 in novice at Haydock (2m, good) 6 months ago. Has since had a second breathing operation. Not out of things.
Highbourne Karisma (FR)
Tongue strap on for first time (retained) when winning 8-runner minor event on Flat at Durtal (11.4f, heavy) 9 months ago for Louisa Carberry. Since changed hands for 120,000 euros and much respected now going hurdling for new yard.
Knight Crossing (IRE)
Order of St George mare has shaped well when placed in bumpers at Uttoxeter (2m) and Fontwell (2¼) in the spring. Can't be dismissed starting out in this sphere.
Phantom Of Delight (IRE)
11/2, hinted at promise (led to 3f out) when a well-held sixth of 9 in bumper at Bangor (17f, good) in May. Has since had a breathing operation and also hooded/tongue tied for her hurdles debut.
Another Vega (IRE)
Order of St George filly. Dam, 2m hurdle winner, is a half-sister to very smart hurdler/smart chaser (2m/17f winner) Facile Vega and bumper winner/useful hurdler (2m-2½m winner) Aurora Vega out of high-class 2m-3m hurdle winner Quevega. An interesting hurdling newcomer for top yard.
Crazy Alice (IRE)
£24,000 4-y-o, Affinisea filly. Dam unraced out of ungenuine 2¼m/19f hurdle winner (stayed 27f) Catleen. Successful sole outing in Irish points in April so very much one to consider on her hurdling bow.
Galaxy Star
Debut bumper winner at Stratford last October. Since showed fairly useful-winning form on the Flat at 11f and posted a good third in handicap at Epsom (1½m, good) last month. A likely player switched to hurdles.
Golden Sanjida
Hooded and first form in bumpers for Noel Williams when second at Plumpton (2¼m, good) 6 months ago. Makes hurdles debut for Olly Murphy now and can't be discounted.
Magika Bella (FR)
€20,000 3-y-o, £105,000 4-y-o, Beaumec De Houelle filly. Dam, 17f-3m hurdle/chase winner, is a half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser (stayed 3½m) Chef d'Oeuvre. Runner-up sole outing in Irish points in March and enters calculations on her first go in this sphere.
Merry Wood (FR)
Readily landed bumper at Angers (11.5f) last September and impressed for new yard when following up in 14-runner bumper at Huntingdon in March. Rates an interesting prospect for leading yard on hurdles debut.
Milly Ocean (IRE)
Crystal Ocean filly landed Ludlow bumper in April and resumed from 6 months off with a very good third of 8 in bumper at Chepstow (2m, soft) 20 days ago. Can't be discounted now going over hurdles.
St Marys Wantage (IRE)
Walk In The Park filly went keenly when a well-held tenth of 14 to Merry Wood in bumper at Huntingdon 7 months ago. In very good hands and still needs considering on hurdles debut.
