Timeform View

Lots with chances but it could pay to side with Olly Murphy's handicap debutant EUSTACE GRENIER who has long given the impression this step up in trip will really suit and can get off the mark now. The returning Loustic Du Chatel heads a long list of dangers with the Henrietta Knight team going really well, although Circuit Breaker is also weighted to have a big say if back to his best. Kosasiempre, Springs A Girl and Las Canals also need factoring into this highly competitive handicap.

Timeform Comments

Sir Hobnob
Fair bumper winner who has shown similar form in this sphere, landing 8-runner handicap hurdle at Ludlow (2m, soft) 8 months ago. Goes up in trip for his return and must enter calculations for in-form yard.
Gentleman Bill (IRE)
Bumper/dual 2m hurdles winner but he ended last season well below par in this sphere after a try over fences. Usual cheekpieces go back on for his reappearance and needs to take a big step forward.
Loustic Du Chatel (FR)
Debut bumper winner. More settled in a hood when doubling his tally on fourth go in this sphere in 10-runner novice hurdle at Kempton (2m, good) in March. Sent up in trip for return/handicap debut and very much one to consider with yard going well.
Fine Thing
Won her first 2 starts over hurdles over C&D and at Stratford but she failed to kick on and was tried in cheekpieces when last of 3 in novice at Kelso (2m5f, good to firm) on final run for Dan Skelton. Needs to step forward on yard/handicap debut.
Springs A Girl (IRE)
Winless last season but in front when fell last (probably would have won) in handicap hurdle at Ludlow (3m, good) in April. Up 4 lb but that form has worked out well so not out of things on her return.
Las Canals (FR)
Bumper winner in France. Fitted with a hood when bagging 17f maiden at Sedgefield and 9-runner handicap at Bangor (2½m, good) in the spring. Overcame a final-hurdle mistake on latter occasion and can go well again here on his reappearance.
Looking As You Are
Got off the mark last season in 7-runner handicap hurdle over C&D (soft) on her final run in March. Enters calculations if ready to roll after 7 months off.
Eustace Grenier (FR)
Showed promise when in the frame in a trio of bumpers (strong form) and since switched to hurdles, finding the test too sharp when fifth of 12 in novice hurdle at Worcester (2m, good to soft) 23 days ago. Appeals as the sort to take a sizeable step forward up in trip for handicap debut. Interesting.
Diamond Koda (IRE)
Consistent sort who deservedly opened his account in 19f handicap at Doncaster in February. Not at his best when third of 6 in novice hurdle at Newcastle (2½m, good) in April but the sort to bounce back here.
At Mangan Bridge (IRE)
Much improved after a breathing operation and successful (over 2½m) maiden hurdle at Southwell and 3-runner handicap at Fakenham 12 months ago. Up 5 lb and needs to hit the ground running on his comeback.
Kosasiempre (FR)
Ended last season with 3m hurdling success at Newbury in March. Resumed from nearly 7 months off with a very good second of 9 in handicap hurdle at Chepstow (19f, soft) 20 days ago. Can make presence felt off same mark.
Circuit Breaker
Lost his form over hurdles following promising debut success at Kempton (21f) in October 2024. However largely in good form back on the Flat since so needs considering off a reduced mark with stable among the winners.
Can You Hear Me (IRE)
Right back on track in a first-time hood (retained) when second of 10 in handicap hurdle at Chepstow (19f, good) 7 months ago. Can't be dismissed in his bid for a maiden success on his return.
Pike Road
Course winner. Yet to score this season but ridden less positively than usual when last of 5 in handicap hurdle here (23f, good) 26 days ago. No surprise to see him bounce back.
Inishnabro (IRE)
Progressive form over hurdles in 2024/25 (won at Market Rasen) but looked rusty sent chasing after 9 months off when fifth of 6 in handicap at Doncaster (2m, good to soft) 10 months ago. Back hurdling after another absence here.
No Hard Feelings (IRE)
Little promise for John Joseph Hanlon. A 3-time winner in points since for current connections though and hinted at promise back under Rules with sixth of 10 in novice hurdle at Chepstow (2m, good to soft) 3 weeks ago, leading long way. Tongue tied for handicap debut and likely capable of better.
