Timeform View

SOLO QUEST looked a sure-fire future winner when finding just smart prospect Born This Way too good at Yarmouth 3 weeks ago and has got to be the one to be with. Medvedev and Reign Over All head up a host of interesting newcomers.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Solo Quest traded at a low of 1.48 and Betfair SP of 8.12 when losing last time, a race in which it raced towards the rear.

Timeform Comments

Afif (FR)
Didn't have much idea first time out when last of 4 in C&D maiden 4 weeks ago. Well bred and longer trips will suit him better. Could be one for next year.
Alfonso (IRE)
Foaled May 31. Ten Sovereigns colt. Half-brother to numerous winners, including smart 2-y-o 7f/1m winner Rivet and useful winner up to 1¼m Out And About. Appealing newcomer but one of 3 runners for the stable and the betting may help sort them out.
Arkat (IRE)
Foaled February 29. 180,000 gns yearling, Blue Point colt. Half-brother to 1¼m winner Sea Ice and 1¼m winner Berkshire Smudge. Plenty of appeal on paper and one to note.
Big Effort
Foaled March 1. Good Effort colt. Half-brother to 2-y-o 7.4f winner Lady Britain. Yard among the winners but he'll probably come on for the run.
Hierax
Has shaped with a fair bit of encouragement in a couple of 7f events. Bred to be smart (cost 425,000 gns as a yearling) and might be more one for longer trips next year.
High Summer (IRE)
Showed a fair bit on debut at Salisbury (7f) 4 weeks ago, green but plugging on. Will improve, not least when upped in trip.
Medvedev
Foaled April 17. 100,000 gns yearling, €340,000 2-y-o, Sea The Stars colt. Brother to 2-y-o 6f winner Vesnina and half-brother to several winners, including winner up to 1m Potapova and 1m-1¼m winner Davydenko. Very appealing on paper and one of 3 runners for stable.
Mr Twig
Well held in 7f novice and 9f maiden. Looks one for handicaps.
Odell (IRE)
Green and down the field both starts.
Reign Over All
Foaled April 10. Kingman colt. Dam unraced sister to smart winner up to 1m Kenya. Yard has had 2 successful 2-y-o newcomers in the last week. One to note from potentially favourable draw.
Secgan (IRE)
Foaled February 28. 65,000 gns yearling, Saxon Warrior gelding. Dam lightly raced, half-sister to useful winner up to 1¼m in France Vegas out of smart French winner up to 9f (2-y-o 1m winner) Gold Luck. First time out not usually the occasion to catch 2-y-os from the yard.
Solo Quest
Not unbacked and looked potentially useful in going close first time up at Yarmouth (7f) 3 weeks ago, headed near line by smart prospect Born This Way having made a striking sweep to the front over 1f out. Sure-fire future winner.
