Timeform View

ALEMBIC showed improved form on his return at Southwell 11 days ago, shaping as if he'd come on for the outing, and this step up in trip should suit on breeding so he's well fancied against exposed rivals here. Golspie is very consistent and a C&D winner so could be a threat, while Urban Road is down to a good mark if coming on for his recent return.

Timeform Comments

Rory's Gold (IRE)
Won by a wide margin over C&D in September but was only tenth of 13 in a handicap at Ayr 22 days ago, unsuited by the heavy ground and meeting some trouble. Returns to the scene of his victory faced with an 8 lb higher mark.
Urban Road
Three-time C&D winner but was out of sorts in the summer and was never involved when seventh of 9 in a handicap here over 1m returning from 3 months off 14 days ago. Blinkers now back on and down in grade so could reveal more.
Titian (IRE)
Persistent starting issues have been his undoing and now needs first-time visor to work the oracle here. Drops into 0-65 company for the first time.
Golspie (IRE)
Very consistent and won at Southwell in September before second of 11 at same track 8 days ago. C&D winner and is one to take seriously back down in trip and grade.
Al Muddy
Last both starts in handicaps and needs the step up in trip to improve him markedly.
Sutton Hoo (IRE)
Won a maiden at Dundalk in February but has not reached that level in handicaps since, including twice in different headgear since joining this yard,
Bay Dream Believer (IRE)
Lightly-raced on all-weather and has lower mark to work with in this sphere. Good second of 11 in a handicap over 1m here 18 days ago and she's not without hope back up in trip.
Freddy Robinson
Ran creditably when fourth in handicaps at Beverley and Southwell in September but below form when sixth of 10 at Wolverhampton last week and needs to bounce back.
Gainsbourg
Lightly raced and showed next to nothing last couple of years. Now steps back up in trip with plenty to prove.
Hill O Rue
Has operated below last season's form but turned in best effort of the season when fourth of 9 over C&D 28 days ago on just second all-weather start and merits some respect from 6 lb below last winning mark.
Wicklow Way (IRE)
Won twice over C&D in classified company, most recently in July, but he's yet to crack a handicap.
Yaaser (IRE)
Tumbling down the weights and didn't shape too badly when third of 14 in handicap over C&D 35 days ago, when back up to this trip for the first time since spring 2022. Persistent slow-starting issues leave him hard to trust, though.
Sassy Glory (IRE)
Won here in June and early September but patchy record since and ran badly over 1m here earlier in the month. Hard to predict.
Alembic
Returned from 6 months off with improved fourth of 14 in handicap over 1m at Southwell 11 days ago and looks sure to come on for that outing and this step up in trip, so he looks one to note for stable well capable of improving them markedly over middle distances.
