Timeform View

RADIATOR SPRINGS again shaped like a very well-treated mare when fourth of 18 at Listowel on her return last month and gets the nod to confirm the promise of that run faced with a seemingly ideal test. The selection's stablemate Lieber Nicc hasn't been seen since winning this race last year, but that is no bad thing given he's plainly very capable fresh and must be taken seriously in his bid to repeat the feat from a 10 lb higher mark. Ben Hur remains unexposed and completes the shortlist.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Metamorpheus traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts: Thornleigh Frank has traded at 50% or less of Betfair SP 3 times on its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Lazare De Star (FR)
Underlined promising start over hurdles when ¾-length second to Heads Up (who'd dictated) in listed novice at Punchestown in February. Found out in better company at Fairyhouse on final outing but a steady pace negated the longer trip and a big-field, well-run handicap should suit him much better.
Lieber Nicc (IRE)
Took a significant step forward to make a winning return in good style in this corresponding event last year. Not seen since but plainly very capable fresh and has to be taken seriously in his bid to repeat the feat from a 10 lb higher mark.
Ben Hur (IRE)
Opened his account over hurdle at the second attempt at Fairyhouse last winter. Also scored on the Flat at Leopardstown in August before finding only one too good contesting his first handicap in this sphere at Listowel (2m). Remains unexposed.
Red Glory (IRE)
Dual 2m winner last season who ran too badly to be true when pulled up at Bellewstown in late-August. Type to bounce back quickly having posted a creditable effort back on the level since.
Hopes Are High (IRE)
Backed up the improvement shown on his handicap debut when sixth of 13 at Listowel (2m, good to soft) 37 days ago, despite carrying head bit awkwardly. Ought to remain competitive.
Mino Des Mottes (FR)
Built on previous promise to score on yard debut at Bellewstown (17f) in July and showed even better form when third of 13 in 2m handicap at Listowel in September. Upped in grade and fitted with first-time cheekpieces. did enough to suggest he remains in form at Gowran 4 weeks ago.
Wholelotofbusiness (IRE)
Runner-up to Lieber Nicc in this race last year and ran well under the circumstances (shuffled back early) when third of 15 in handicap hurdle at Listowel (2m, good to soft) 36 days ago, never nearer. Still looks feasibly treated following a 3 lb rise in the weights and one to consider.
Radiator Springs (IRE)
Low-mileage point winner who was successful on second hurdle start at Clonmel in January. Failed to meet expectations in a fairly useful handicap at Punchestown in the spring but back on song when fourth of 18 at Listowel on return and a well-run race at this trip on soft ground likely to be ideal.
Stuntman Steve (IRE)
Fourteen runs since last win in 2025 but returned to form from out of the blue back over hurdles in first-time blinkers at Bellewstown in July. Went a long way to confirming his return to form at Downpatrick but proved disappointing at Sligo last time.
Malbay Madness (IRE)
Smooth-travelling type who resumed winning ways back in a less competitive race at Downpatrick (2¼m, good) in August, kept up to work. Struggled to get competitive back in warmer company at Listowel since, however.
Thornleigh Frank (IRE)
Shaped quite well on first outing for another new yard after 11 weeks off (previously with Cian Michael Collins) when fourth of 11 in 3m handicap hurdle at Roscommon (good to soft) 33 days ago. Marked drop in trip not sure to suit, though.
Hopeful Hero (IRE)
Gained reward for his consistency with a first success in handicap company in 6-runner event at Clonmel (23f, good) earlier in the month. Seemingly blunted by the more demanding conditions up in class in the Persian War at Chepstow 8 days later.
Arch Empire (FR)
Never on terms sent chasing at Galway (2¼m, good to soft) in July but has been given a chance by the assessor making a swift return to hurdling.
Duke Of Leggagh (IRE)
Landed back-to-back handicap hurdles at Naas in February 2025, but failed to fire on both subsequent outings that year and hasn't offered much encouragement in a handful of starts on the level since returning to action in July.
Barrys Spirit (IRE)
Lightly-raced 17f hurdles winner for Gavin Cromwell who probably needed the run on first outing since leaving that yard after 8 months off when tenth of 17 in handicap at Galway (17f, good to soft) in early-August.
Combs (IRE)
Got back on track to finally open his hurdle account in a 2m Kilbeggan maiden on reappearance. However, not in the same form in a listed handicap at Listowel next time and ran even worse in a minor event at Sligo last week. Something to prove.
Lygon Lad (IRE)
Confirmed his return to form when opening his account in a Downpatrick novice (2¼m) in September, finding plenty for pressure. Looked a shade unlucky not to follow up back in handicap company there last time and ought to remain competitive.
Metamorpheus (IRE)
Has been in resurgent form for current yard this summer, again finding only one too good after just 2 days off at Cork in early-August. Found run of good form coming to a halt at Listowel the following month but cast that aside with a creditable effort on the Flat 6 days later.
