Timeform View

UNCLE PAD makes obvious appeal having been purchased by top connections for £310,000 after easily winning his sole outing in points, so he's put forward as the answer. Bravemans Call was much improved from his debut when runner-up to a well-touted Mullins newcomer at Listowel last month and is clear pick of those with experience. Malpaso is out of a bumper winner and any market support for him would be worth noting.

Timeform Comments

Highland Trail (IRE)
Highland Reel gelding. Half-brother to 7.4f winner Quiet Assassin. Dam 8.6f winner (including at 2 yrs). Flat bred hailing from a yard which is 0-46 in bumpers.
Mega Shoc (IRE)
Offered little when sixth of 11 in 2½m bumper at Listowel (good to soft) on last month's debut.
Some See Stars
Ran to a fair level when runner-up at Fairyhouse on New Year's Day. That is very much a standout on his record, though he did take a step back in the right direction when third of 10 at Fairyhouse on most recent outing.
Staton (IRE)
Down the field in a pair of maiden hurdles.
The Last Line (IRE)
Shaped well on debut when only narrowly denied in 14-runner bumper at Cork back in July 2024, closing all the way to the line. Effort proved short-lived 27 months on at Roscommon, though, and tongue strap now applied.
Uncle Pad (IRE)
Vadamos gelding. Closely related to French hurdler/chaser Sorcier du Roi, and half-sister to 3 winners, including fairly useful hurdler/chaser Hello Sweetie. Easy winner of sole outing in points and bought for £310,000 after, so of obvious interest, especially having joined top stable.
Bravemans Call (IRE)
Built on an encouraging debut when second of 9 in 2m bumper at Listowel (good to soft) 37 days ago. Sets the standard.
Chaparro (IRE)
Maxios gelding. Dam, modest maiden jumper (stayed 3m), closely related to fairly useful hurdle winner/chaser (stayed 3¼m) Minella Encore out of fairly useful hurdler/chaser (2m-2½m winner) Stashedaway. Worth a precautionary check in the betting with top amateur booked.
Malpaso (IRE)
Blue Bresil gelding who is out of a bumper winner, so would enter calculations if the market speaks favourably about his chances.
Riversdale
€28,000 3-y-o, Poet's Word gelding. Half-brother to modest hurdler Honey Jack, stays 3¼m. Well worth a market check for yard which sent out a well backed winning newcomer in this sphere last weekend.
Back In Favour (IRE)
Point winner who has shown ability in bumpers, including when third over 2½m at Listowel in September. Was beaten by more than the drop back in trip without usual hood at Punchestown last time. The headgear makes a quick return.
Cant Stopthe Clock (IRE)
Valirann mare. Half-sister to modest hurdler Sineads Fancy. Wears hood.
Cave Daisy (IRE)
Court Cave mare who looked a hard ride when well held at this course on her debut in late-August.
Moot Hall (FR)
Achieved more than on debut fitted with a hood when fifth of 14 in bumper at Punchestown (2m, good to soft) 18 days ago, not ideally placed. Plenty more needed to play a leading role, though.
Rarely Miss Taken (IRE)
Well-bred Poet's Word mare but went with no encouragement at Kilbeggan on debut in May. Has left Ian Patrick Donoghue.
Cantgetaway (IRE)
A cheap purchase given pedigree and offered little at Punchestown on recent debut.
