Timeform View

RACE TO BASE is the least exposed of the quartet and may well make a winning reappearance. Klitschko and Filibustering have race fitness in the bank, and both look credible dangers in a race that's likely to be very tactical (no obvious pace on paper).

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Race To Base traded at a low of 8.00 and Betfair SP of 73.73 when losing last time, a race in which it raced prominently and travelled strongly early on.

Timeform Comments

Filibustering
Strong-travelling type. Landed a third successive hurdle success in emphatic fashion at Cartmel in late-June. Set plenty to do when third at Perth prior to finishing well-held eighth of 17 in Welsh Champion Hurdle latest. Respected back in calmer waters, even with yard not firing on all cylinders.
Race To Base (IRE)
Fairly useful 2m novice winner. Pulled up in Sandown EBF Final on handicap debut, however, all the better for a breathing operation when runner-up to a useful one there (2m) in April. Hardly looks exposed on third start for very capable yard and should have a big say if ready to roll.
Klitschko
Capitalised on a reduced mark in good fashion when landing a second 2m Sedgefield win in March. Back to his best with a run under his belt when 6½-length second over the same C&D last time. This probably isn't his ideal set-up, but Brian Hughes knows him well (can flatter to deceive).
Banderas (IRE)
Resumed progress over hurdles when winning a 2½m Hexham handicap in May. Yard generally going well, so a bit disconcerting that he's been well beaten both starts since returning from a break (lost a shoe on both occasions).
