Timeform View

CHAPEL DOWN shaped a more clear-cut second best than the end result suggests at Brighton on his most recent outing and is well worth another chance to build on his debut promise. Palms Oasis is an obvious threat with further progress on the cards, while Annie Hall and Bondy Boy are a couple of interesting newcomers to note in the betting.

Timeform Comments

Palms Oasis
Oasis Dream colt who built on his debut promise when second of 11 in a maiden over C&D 2 weeks ago, seeing it out well considering he was keen early. Likely to progress further.
Yellow Mission (IRE)
Space Blues colt is out of a stayer and looked one for the longer term when last of 5 in 6f novice at Salisbury on debut in July.
Al Alami
Sergei Prokofiev colt who was held back by inexperience when fifth of 11 in 7f novice at Kempton on debut 19 days ago. Likely to improve for good stable.
Bondy Boy
Foaled April 8. £25,000 yearling, Havana Grey colt. Dam unraced sister to 6f/7f winner Doctor Khan Junior and half-sister to 6f winner Pocklington (both useful) out of smart 6f (including at 2 yrs) winner Ladies Are Forever. Yard has had plenty of success with this family.
Chapel Down
Sent off at 100/1 but shaped well when ½-length third of 10 in 6f novice at Wolverhampton on debut in September. Shaped clear-cut second best at Brighton subsequently and remains with potential.
Espresso Breeze
Caturra colt who has shown some promise on all 3 starts to date, finishing never-nearer fifth of 11 over C&D 2 weeks ago. Remains with potential, though could do with cutting out the tardy starts.
Red Caberneigh
A'ali colt who merely hinted at ability in 7f maiden at this course 25 days ago. Needs a big step forward.
Steel At Heart
Foaled April 4. 24,000 gns foal, €38,000 yearling, Tasleet gelding. Dam lightly-raced maiden half-sister to useful winner up to 1¼m American Sonja. Yard 0-15 with its 2-y-o debutants this season.
Annie Hall
Foaled May 13. Harry Angel filly. Half-sister to numerous winners, including useful 6f/7f winner Clitheroe and useful 6f winner Dr Strangelove. Dam 6f/7f winner. Bred to be useful so a newcomer to note in the betting.
Maeveontime (IRE)
Supremacy filly who offered little at big odds when down the field in a C&D maiden on recent debut.
