An interesting opener. Course bumper winner THE SKECHER gets a narrow vote over the unbeaten Majordomo. Sandy Thomson's King Kubala also created a good impression when winning his bumper in the spring.

Timeform Comments

Bay Runner (IRE)
£55,000 recruit from the Irish pointing field who made a promising start to his Rules career when narrowly denied in a Newcastle bumper (17f, good to soft) in March. Should have a future over jumps on that evidence.
Flaming Norman (IRE)
Fourth on the second of 2 outings in bumpers but no show in 2 Newcastle hurdles for Paul Robson in the spring. With a new trainer back from 7 months off.
Jackson Court (IRE)
£45,000 purchase after dead-heating in an Irish point in March. The betting should help guide to expectations on hurdle debut.
King Kubala (IRE)
Third on course bumper debut last November and returned to comfortably win a similar race at Kelso in March. Could be useful.
The Skecher (FR)
Runner-up on second of 2 outings in Irish points and looked useful when justifying strong market support in heavy-ground course bumper in January. Found the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival too much in March but remains one likely to do well in novice hurdles.
Battle Of Arsuf (IRE)
€45,000 Walk In The Park gelding who was fourth sole start in Irish points (Mar 2026).
Majordomo (FR)
Looked a good prospect when winning a Newcastle bumper and Carlisle junior hurdle (both 17f, good to soft) last season.
Noble Thistle (IRE)
Cost £22,000 after finishing runner-up both starts in points (latest Apr 2026). Plenty of stamina in his pedigree and may not come into his own until tackling longer trips.
