Hardly an appealing betting race. PIGEON HOUSE should have too much speed for Shallow River, who looks the main danger at the weights. Blackwater Lilly shouldn't be dismissed in a race of unreliable types.

Made all in 2m Catterick claimer on final start for Jennie Candlish in March. Best effort for present yard when runner-up in small-field Class 4 handicap at Market Rasen in June. Underlined his inconsistency at the same track last time. Drops in class and likely the one to beat if on a going day.
Shallow River (IRE)
Veteran who won over C&D on hurdling debut in 2022. More miss than hit since returning from a significant absence more recently, going backwards from a respectable stable debut at Ffos Las (3m) latest. Sights now lowered with first-time blinkers added, however, a sharp 2m is a serious question mark.
Blackwater Lilly
Sole hurdle win came for Brian Ellison at Bangor in May 2025. Flattered to deceive in a couple of handicaps before shaping better than the bare result in refitted cheekpieces over C&D latest. Seemingly plenty to find on these terms, though Pigeon House/Shallow River hardly reliable sorts nowadays.
Mc'flo
Headstrong maiden. Beaten 13 lengths back under her usual front-running tactics at Plumpton (2m) last time. Faces another tall order at the weights.
Stopherandgo (IRE)
Long time since she's produced worthwhile form in either code. Well beaten from out of the weights on return to hurdling at Worcester (2½m) latest.
