KEOPS DES BORDES is in top hands and showed he retained his ability when returning from a long absence at Ayr in the spring. He can make a winning hurdling debut. Ronnie Russet and Ocean Master may provide the chief threat.

Timeform Comments

Ballyteige (IRE)
£35,000 5-y-o. Brother to a point winner. Dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler/high-class chaser (2½m-2¾m winner) Great Endeavour and useful hurdler/smart chaser (stayed 3¼m) Daklondike. Easy winner of point earlier this year and needs monitoring in market on NH debut.
Cushendun
Placed all 3 bumper starts in 2023/24 and made the frame in 3 of his 5 starts in this sphere last season. May have more to offer yet.
Keops Des Bordes (FR)
Won sole Irish point and found only No Drama This End too strong when runner-up in Warwick bumper in December 2024. Absent 16 months thereafter but ran to similar level when fourth at Ayr in April and must be of interest on hurdles debut.
Lauvergnat (FR)
£80,000 5-y-o, Estejo gelding. Half-brother to French chaser Djagatal. Dam, unraced, closely related to fairly useful hurdle winner/smart chaser Rebel du Maquis. Won second start in points earlier this year and must be respected on debut under Rules.
Ocean Master (IRE)
€20,000 3-y-o, £60,000 5-y-o, Crystal Ocean gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler/useful chase winner El Capitaine, stays 25f. Won sole start in Irish points earlier this year and newcomers from yard are often fancied.
Ronnie Russet
Took his bumper form to a new level when easily scoring at Newcastle earlier this year. Wasn't in same form in better company at Aintree in April but must be taken seriously on hurdles bow here.
Wonder Flying (FR)
Showed ability in bumpers for Henrietta Knight last year but well beaten when last seen at Newbury in February. Joined new yard ahead of hurdles bow.
Don't Tell Dougie
Held back by inexperience in a couple of bumpers earlier this year and is likely best watched on switch to hurdling.
