Useful handicapper KAMSINAS has an excellent record fresh, and he gets the nod over last season's Morebattle third Wise Eagle. Dual course winner To Chase A Dream looks interesting if ready to roll, while Perseus Way has to be respected following his recent second in the Silver Trophy.

Timeform Comments

Madara (FR)
Smart chaser who won the Plate at Cheltenham prior to a typically strong-travelling display when third in the Topham in April. Somewhat intriguing handicap hurdle debutant off 7 lb lower (latest hurdle start as a 3-y-o in France), for all he'll certainly have bigger targets down the road.
Supremely West (IRE)
Produced a career-best performance when a decisive winner of the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham in March. Shaped well off this mark when 10¼-length fourth at Aintree subsequently. Harry Skelton looks elsewhere for the first time, and he'll presumably be campaigned with the spring in mind again.
Nurse Susan (FR)
Course winner who supplemented her Cheltenham handicap win with listed success at Sandown in February. Didn't fire in the National Spirit prior to finishing down the field in the Martin Pipe when last seen. Almost certain to need this, as was the case in this corresponding race 12 months ago.
Knickerbockerglory (IRE)
Useful front runner on his day. Narrowly denied on first crack at 2½m (good) at Bangor in March. Wasn't primed for his reappearance (as often the case) in Welsh Champion Hurdle (2m) last time. Respected back up in trip, though another who's perhaps building up to something later in the season.
Kamsinas (FR)
Latest win came on reappearance at Aintree (2½m) in 2024. Struggled in graded hurdles/chases last season prior to a more encouraging 7½-length third off this mark in a valuable Plumpton handicap (25f) in April. Drop back in trip unlikely to inconvenience and makes appeal given his record fresh.
Listentoyourheart (IRE)
Useful mare who had a couple of sighters prior to winning a valuable 2½m handicap at Windsor on New Year's Day last season. Likely being campaigned with a tilt at that race in mind again, having been given another considerate reappearance in the Welsh Champion Hurdle last month.
Perseus Way (IRE)
Has been a revelation since joining very capable yard, making hay from his much reduced Flat/hurdle marks in the North this summer. Underlined he's still thriving when runner-up in a loaded edition of the Silver Trophy at Chepstow last time. Up 4 lb but will again have a fitness edge over a few.
Sanilam (IRE)
Smooth traveller whose 4 wins have come on varying ground, latest when completing a double in a valuable handicap at Musselburgh (2½m, good) in March. Seemingly undone by more demanding conditions at Ayr subsequently. Will be a fresher horse here, though needs to resume progress to defy this mark.
Wise Eagle (IRE)
Useful Flat performer who posted his best effort over hurdles when third in the Morebattle at Kelso (2m) in February. Still in form when runner-up in a tactical race over the same C&D in May. Bigger field over a longer trip much more his bag here and likely spot on after a spin on the Flat.
To Chase A Dream
Completed a hat-trick here in December 2024 (course form figures off 211). Eye-catching sixth over an inadequate trip in the Imperial Cup (2m) final run for Paul Collins in March last year. Interesting stable debutant (has won fresh), who could prove well treated if fit following a longer absence.
