Timeform View

There's a feeling at least one of the several unexposed sorts in this line-up will come to the fore, with Olly Murphy's KINGS CHAMPION top of the list. Dan Skelton pair Saracen Beau (a new recruit for the stable) and Broomfield Aderra appeal as likely improvers on their second chase starts. The Dog Thief and High Tea are other interesting additions to the chase ranks.

Timeform Comments

Saracen Beau (IRE)
Low-mileage 7-y-o who easily doubled his hurdle tally at Doncaster in March. Pulled up in Hexham handicap hurdle in May (final start for Nicky Richards) but very much the type to revive for excellent new yard having had a breathing operation. Promising second in his previous chase.
Onewaywest (IRE)
Reappeared with hurdle wins at Warwick and Wetherby last November. Lost his way in the spring but his record at this time last year means it would be no surprise were he to revive after a break. Makes chase debut.
Irandando Has (FR)
Fairly useful maiden/novice hurdle winner. Made a disappointing start to his handicap career in a hurdle at Haydock in the spring but he's clearly better than that. Goes chasing after 6 months off.
Kings Champion (FR)
Strong novice hurdle form last season, notably his second to Talk To The Man, who made a winning chase debut here recently. Very interesting handicap chase newcomer.
Captain Bellamy
Bumper winner and first past the post over hurdles. Fairly useful form when runner-up in a couple of 2¾m Newbury handicap chases for Paul Nicholls last season. Returns under the care of a new trainer.
Clodders Dream
Lost his way for Gordon Elliott in the second half of 2025, including pulled up on chase debut when last seen in December. Has had a breathing operation ahead of return for new stable. Likely he's best watched.
Idalko Bihoue (FR)
Lightly raced since opening account over fences at Cheltenham in autumn 2023 but has been cut some slack by the handicapper and his stable's good form provides hope that he'll be ready to do himself justice after an absence. Betting informative.
The Dog Thief (IRE)
Winning pointer who took very well to hurdling earlier in the year, winning a Market Rasen and Perth handicap around 2½m. This point winner is the sort to do at least as well over fences but he returns in a deep race.
Mon Champion (FR)
Fairly useful ex-French hurdler who won a pair of handicap chases last winter. Flopped back at Fontwell on final start. With a leading stable but likely vulnerable to some of the unexposed sorts in this line-up on reappearance.
Some Scope
Revitalised by visor when adding to his tally over fences at Doncaster (3m) last winter. Also runner-up twice in the spring but pulled up at Haydock on final start. Off 6 months.
Happy And Fine (FR)
Ended a losing run at Warwick (3m) last December. Failed to complete on next 3 outings but ended his season with a creditable fourth at Chepstow (3m, good) in April. Has won when fresh before and his stable is going well.
Broomfield Aderra (IRE)
Fairly useful dual hurdles winner last season. Ran below that level when fifth of 7 on C&D chase debut/reappearance 3 weeks ago but she's in top hands and could prove a different proposition with that outing behind her.
High Tea (IRE)
Handicap hurdle winner last winter and a point success at the start of his career provides the hope that this low-mileage 6-y-o may do even better now chasing. Stable among the winners.
The Burren Man
€180,000 purchase after finishing second in an Irish point. Won first of 2 outings in novice hurdles last winter. Appeals as the sort who could go well in handicap chases this season but stable a bit slow to get going this autumn.
