Timeform View

THEATRE TOM looked set to go close before departing here last time, and he's taken to gain compensation on first start over 3m. The main danger is likely to be I Love You Sivola, who has made an excellent start for his present yard. Eskimo Sam and Locked Down Lad also need considering in a competitive finale.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Eskimo Sam traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 3 starts: Katie's Melody has traded at 50% or less of Betfair SP twice on its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Katie's Melody (IRE)
Point/bumper winner. Finished 2¼ lengths second in a higher grade on handicap bow at Chepstow in April. Undone by her jumping (well backed) on chasing debut at Hexham since. Return to hurdles/first-time cheekpieces should help in that regard and has at least won fresh (albeit at skinny odds).
Theatre Tom (IRE)
Half-brother to useful hurdler Theatre Man. Made the frame both completed starts in Irish points. Much tighter in the betting/looked set to go very close when falling heavily here (2½m) on second handicap start 8 weeks ago. Totally unexposed up in trip and may well make amends if none the worse.
Herbygoesbananas
Fairly useful debut bumper winner for Chris Gordon in 2024. Well below that level over hurdles for present yard. Has hit the frame (without threatening to win) all 3 handicap starts. Should at least find this easier than the Chepstow maiden he contested on return last month.
Warrioress (IRE)
Related to some fairly useful types. Second in an Irish maiden point. Fared better than previously under Rules when beaten 13½ lengths in a weak maiden at Huntingdon (21f, heavy). Step up in trip/switch to a low-grade handicap should benefit on return and worth noting for each-way support.
Eskimo Sam
Lightly-raced 7-y-o. Showed improved form amid a lack of professionalism (wandered badly) when 1¼-length second in a thin Uttoxeter handicap (2½m) in May. In-form yard has had several runners ready to roll in recent weeks. Another step forward could see her in the mix here.
Rest Is The Best (IRE)
Lightly-raced 5-y-o. Shaped like a stayer when hitting the frame in a couple of Chepstow handicaps (19.5f, soft) last winter. Didn't see out her race final start of last season at Ffos Las (2½m, heavy). Step up in trip sure to suit, especially under less testing conditions than previously faced.
I Love You Sivola (FR)
Capitalised on a lowly mark to make a winning debut for his impressive young trainer at Hereford (25.5f) last month. Back in headgear when first past the post at Fontwell (2¾m) 9 days on, subsequently disqualified after his rider weighed in light. Potentially still on a handy mark off 3 lb higher.
Locked Down Lad
Point bumper winner. Came closest to breaking his duck under Rules here last summer. Rediscovered some form when 3½-length fourth (behind a next-time-out winner) here (2½m) in July. Certainly worth a go over 3m at this stage and possibilities if back to his best following 3 months off.
Dexperado (FR)
Hasn't got competitive in 5 starts since finishing runner-up twice at Market Rasen in spring 2024. Hard to be confident sporting a change of headgear following a further 5 months away.
