Timeform View

WEST AWAY has made a superb start for his new yard over fences and from a very fair mark back hurdling, he looks the answer. Who's Da Goose could do with brushing up his jumping but he is a definite threat, while an improved showing from handicap debutant Man Down would come as no surprise.

Timeform Comments

Feud
Dual winner for Richard O'Brien in 2024/25. Back to form for current yard in first-time blinkers (retained) when third of 13 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (2½m, good to soft) 18 days ago.
Arion Soldier (IRE)
Has stood very little racing and jury out as to how much ability he retains.
In For The Night (IRE)
Bounced back to his best on just his second start for the yard when winning 10-runner handicap hurdle over shorter trip at Kilbeggan in July. Raised 9 lb for that but gave it a good go when third at Sligo a month ago.
Black Bamboo (IRE)
Sixteen runs since last win in 2023. Last of 10 in handicap hurdle at Killarney (17f, good to soft, 18/1) in August and blinkers now applied.
The Friday Man
Big price and understandably made a low-key stable debut after 14 months off 4 weeks ago. This will reveal more.
West Away (IRE)
Confirmed promise of stable debut when winning 6-runner maiden chase at Wexford in August by 4½ lengths from Jackson Lamb. Even better form when placed twice since and he has a very handy hurdles mark to exploit. Major claims.
Take The Free (IRE)
Walk In The Park gelding who took his form up another notch when winning extended 2½m conditionals maiden at Roscommon in July by 2¼ lengths from Frankie's Freebie. Disappointed on handicap debut before taking no part at Punchestown (was well out of ground).
Buddy Holly (IRE)
Shaped with promise in a Punchestown bumper (for Philip Fenton) last spring. Didn't come up to scratch in 3 starts over hurdles for Nicky Henderson and left that yard for £16,000 in May. Allotted a stiff mark and well held on stable debut in September.
Tir Og (IRE)
Won 3 times in the first half of last season and stopped the slide with cheekpieces applied when fourth of 12 in handicap hurdle at Downpatrick (19f) in June. Seemed to stay 2¾m when fourth at Galway last time and cheekpieces are now reapplied.
Better Times (IRE)
Fair winner at 2¾m over hurdles. Didn't quite match that level of form in a couple of starts over fences in the late-spring/early-summer and while he failed to build on promise of his Ballinrobe run last time, 3m probably isn't his trip.
Galavanting George (IRE)
Made frame on 3 occasions last season and was in the process of running creditably when falling on last 2 outings. Hasn't been seen since May and is hard to have full confidence in on the back of those, for all he's in very capable hands.
Krabat (IRE)
Successful twice over fences at Limerick last season, latest in March. Looked to have gone off the boil later that spring and lower hurdles mark is justified back from 5 months off.
Who's Da Goose
Left qualifying runs well behind when making a successful handicap debut at Wexford (2½m) in August. Up 9 lb but gave another excellent account of himself at Listowel, closing all the way to the line. Shortlisted.
Mount Ferns (IRE)
Lightly raced for an 8-y-o and both efforts in 2026 hardly brimming with promise.
Man Down (IRE)
Made frame sole completed start in points. Has been brought along steadily over hurdles and now he's been allotted a mark, he rates a likely improver. One to consider.
Where Are You Now (IRE)
Failed to complete the last twice, unseating rider on chasing debut in September. Since left Enda Bolger.
