Timeform View

THREAD OF GOLD confirmed the improvement he showed in handicaps when posting a good fifth in a Leopardstown Group 3 a couple of months ago, that despite not being seen to best effect. He looks a big player tackling listed company for the first time and shades preference over low-mileage, improving pair The Austrian and Golden Splendour. Contorsion and In My Teens also command respect in an interesting finale.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

A strongly contested lead could count against Together Now, who is expected to try and race close up: Such a hotly-contested pace as is on the cards here may be to the benefit of The Austrian who is likely to make a challenge late.

Timeform Comments

Factual Fact (FR)
Opened his Flat account at Killarney (17f) in May and improved on that form in defeat on 3 of his 4 subsequent runs (excuses other start), latterly when fourth of 17 in handicap at Naas (2m) 3 weeks ago. However, looks to have plenty on his plate on these terms upped in class.
Contorsion (USA)
Pretty useful form in 2 outings in France for Andre Fabre in 2025 and having not shaped at all badly on stable debut at Gowran in May, she shrugged off a 6-month absence when landing C&D amateurs event 12 days ago. Back up in class but she's still very lightly raced and there should be more to come.
Golden Splendour
Successful on only start in France for Francis-Henri Graffard in spring of last year and built on that following 17 months off when successful on stable debut at Punchestown (9f) 7 weeks ago. Bred to be suited by middle distances and this useful prospect is in the right hands to achieve more.
In My Teens (IRE)
Proved a different proposition upped to this trip when landing a valuable C&D handicap by 7 lengths in June. Not seen to entirely best effect tackling Group 3s next 2 starts but she does need to shrug off a distinctly lesser effort in listed company at Naas (1½m, soft) 3 weeks ago.
Shaool (IRE)
Useful mare who ended last season on a high, signing off with success at listed level and returned to form when sixth in Galway handicap in July. However, hasn't really threatened back up in class since. Others boast more compelling claims.
Shosholoza (IRE)
Hasn't matched the pick of his useful juvenile form but can have his latest effort marked up slightly having not found adequate room as race was developing when fourth behind Contorsion over C&D 12 days ago. Still unexposed at this sort of trip and respected for each-way purposes.
The Austrian (IRE)
Upwardly-mobile son of New Bay who gained breakthrough success in a Listowel maiden in September and followed up in manner of a smart prospect on handicap debut at Thurles (12.7f) 24 days ago, running green but still doing it cosily. Well worth his place in this company.
Thread Of Gold (IRE)
Course winner who landed back-to-back handicaps at up to this trip in July and confirmed recent improvement despite not being seen to best effect when fifth in a Leopardstown Group 3. Remains lightly raced following just 6 starts and one for the shortlist now tackling a listed race.
Camino Vino (IRE)
Winning debut at Dundalk over 1m in December but never threatened in trio of starts during first half of this season, latterly in listed company. Looks up against it back from 99 days off.
Mawhibah (QA)
Lightly-raced filly who opened account in 21-runner maiden at Navan (1¼m, good, 8/1) 2 months ago. Likely more to come but asked a much bigger question now.
Miss Romagna (IRE)
Wasted no time getting back to form when third in a Limerick maiden in July. That form proved strong and she duly took further strides forward when readily opening her account in a Roscommon maiden (1½m, good to soft) in August. This understandably demands more, though.
Together Now (USA)
Half-sister to top-class winner up to 1½m City of Troy. Shaped well when placed on first 3 runs and made most of good opportunity in refitted tongue strap when opening her account in a C&D maiden 12 days ago. Will need to step forward again but that's distinctly possible given pedigree/connections.
Zadawa (FR)
In good hands and posted career best when winning 17-runner maiden (10/3) at Galway (1½m, soft) in September. However, unable to land a blow switched to listed company at Naas latest and suspicion she'll find a few too good again here.
