Timeform View

A dual C&D winner in September, THE ANTHONY GOVER has remained in top form, finding only one who had fallen plenty in the weights too strong over C&D 2 weeks ago. He looks a big player again under Billy Loughnane and shades preference over Crimson Road. Caledonian is another likely player if getting the breaks, whilst Under The Sun also needs bearing in mind on just his second start for James Owen.

Timeform Comments

Show Biz Kid (IRE)
Resumed winning ways from 5 lb lower mark at Bath (1¼m) in May. Lightly raced and easily best effort since when third of 7 in handicap at Goodwood (9f) in August, shuffled back before running on. Not out of things back on all-weather.
Crimson Road (IRE)
Rattled off a quickfire hat-trick in July/August and shaped as if still in top form since, deserving of credit for finishing as close as he did given how freely he raced when third at Bath (1¼m, good, 11/2) 25 days ago. Lightly raced on all-weather and expected to go well again.
Serious Look (IRE)
Does most of his racing here and a 3-time C&D winner. Not at his best on a rare turf start when seventh of 13 in classified event at Doncaster (1m, good to firm) in September. No surprise to see him get back on track.
Tortured Soul
Course winner who began 2026 with 11f Southwell win in January. Placed 3 times on all-weather thereafter but out of sorts more recently, including when seventh of 10 in handicap at this C&D 28 days ago. Needs to show more before becoming of interest again.
Lunella (IRE)
Lope Y Fernandez filly who showed fair form on first 2 starts in turf maidens at up to 11.6f this summer. Went as if amiss when fourth of 5 on qualifying run at Kempton (1½m) in August but given a break since and sort her yard does well with in handicaps. Betting can guide.
Caledonian
Made a successful all-weather/handicap debut at Southwell in November 2024. Winless since but took a step firmly back in right direction when fifth in a C&D handicap in July. Can have a line put through his latest effort at Southwell and he's down to a very workable mark if getting the breaks.
The Anthony Gover
Smooth traveller who bagged back-to-back C&D handicaps in September and lost little caste in defeat in 2 subsequent runs, latterly when second over C&D 2 weeks ago. Looks sure to be in the thick of things again under Billy Loughnane.
Study Up
Free-going sort who won at Leicester (1¼m, firm) and posted a good second over C&D earlier this year. Not in same form of late, though did have excuses on account of being poorly placed when fifth of 8 in handicap at Bath (1¼m, good) 25 days ago. However, still 4 lb above last winning mark.
Under The Sun
Returned to form from out of the blue when running out an 80/1 winner at Lingfield in February. Creditable in-the-frame efforts next 2 starts and shaped as if he'd come on for last month's reappearance/stable debut fifth over 8.6f here 10 days ago. One to bear in mind.
Ibn Altheeb (IRE)
Course winner who was perked up by a switch of headgear when capitalising on a falling mark at Musselburgh (9f) 3 weeks ago, leading over 1f out and keeping on. However, overall record is patchy and he wouldn't be certain to back that up here.
