WOSTA made a promising start when a fast-finishing runner-up at Kempton and can go one better here. Steamroller could emerge as the main danger back from a break after an encouraging Newbury debut sixth, while Raider and Medaali also have more to offer and appeal as the pick of the rest.

Timeform Comments

Katana (FR)
Modest maiden hurdler who was well held in a pair of 1½m novices at Kempton last month.
Journalism
Well held in novice company (over 1m) at Windsor and Nottingham recently. Blinkers and tongue strap go on for first time.
Medaali (IRE)
9/2 and tongue tied when an encouraging fifth of 14 in maiden at Nottingham (1m, good to soft) on debut 19 days ago. This Ghaiyyath gelding should progress.
Ruthless Ambition (USA)
Foaled February 10. $150,000 foal who is closely related to useful US multiple 6f winner Sunny Dale. The betting should guide to expectations for this Violence gelding.
Steamroller (FR)
€200,000 Too Darn Hot gelding. Hinted at promise without getting involved when sixth of 9 in strong 1¼m Newbury maiden on debut in May, proving green. Scopey sort and should improve after a break.
Watch The King (FR)
Fairly useful ex-French gelding. 10/1 and hooded for first time when a creditable fifth of 10 in maiden at Compiegne (1m, good) in June on final run for Fabrice Chappet. Might need this for new handler.
Opal Rose
150/1, never-dangerous seventh of 10 in novice at Kempton (1m) on her belated debut 24 days ago. This Workforce mare needs to take a big step forward.
Abbey Bartlet
40,000 gns yearling, Starspangledbanner filly. Half-sister to 2-y-o 6f winner Lajooje and 1½m winner Los Toldos. Dam, 7f/1m winner, half-sister to high-class winner up to 7f Equiano. Makes some appeal on paper and worth a look.
Raider (IRE)
Sent off 4/1 but never a threat after a slow start when fifth of 7 in maiden at Leicester (1¼m, good to firm) on debut 42 days ago. This well-related Saxon Warrior filly can do better.
Wosta
Make Believe filly looked green and caught the eye when a debut second of 8 in 1m maiden at Kempton 3 weeks ago, finishing with a flourish. Can take a sizeable step forward here and the one to beat.
