THAT DARN CANTOR has started life well on a synthetic surface and can make light of a 4 lb rise for his breakthrough Kempton victory with this step up in distance looking a positive. The consistent Captain Cairney is feared most in his bid for a third win of 2026, ahead of Sea of Charm and Percy Jones.

All 4 career victories have come here, the latest over 1½m last summer. Largely creditable efforts in defeat this year but brushed aside when only sixth of 7 over C&D 20 days ago. The sort to bounce back.
That Darn Cantor
Has made a bright start on all-weather and gained a first success in 6-runner handicap at Kempton (1½m) 3 weeks ago. Up 4 lb but another bold showing is on the cards with this longer trip a plus.
Fiefdom (IRE)
Lightly-raced maiden. Has made a solid start in handicaps, coming in a close fourth of 5 in 2m handicap here last time. Not out of things eased 1 lb.
Captain Cairney
Landed back-to-back handicaps at Leicester (1½m) and Southwell (1¾m) in the summer. Recorded another good effort with third of 10 in handicap at Catterick (1¾m, good) 16 days ago. Likely to be on the premises again.
Ottoman (IRE)
Doubled his tally for the season over 1½m here in September. Unseated leaving the stalls at Haydock next time but back on track with fourth of 7 over C&D 20 days ago. Possibilities.
Sea Of Charm (FR)
Course winner who ran creditably again when fourth of 6 in handicap at Brighton (1½m, good) in August. Not dismissed in a change of headgear.
Choir Boy (IRE)
Lightly-raced maiden. Beat only one in handicap at Southwell (1½m) in September. Needs to take a big step forward.
Angel Breeze (IRE)
Yet to offer much in her 4 runs to date, including when seventh of 9 on handicap debut at Lingfield (1½m, all-weather) in August. Work to do from 2 lb out of the weights.
Dijon Gone
Remains winless but she posted a respectable fourth of 10 in handicap over C&D 35 days ago. Needs to build on it from 2 lb out of the handicap here.
