Timeform View

The level of form BON BON FIZZ has achieved in bumpers since falling on his hurdle debut suggests he should be more than capable of winning a maiden and he can enhance Gordon Elliott's good record in this race. Punchestown runner-up Quest For Answers is second choice ahead of Noel Meade's Downpatrick third Poets Rambler. Henry de Bromhead point recruit Bishop of Rome needs checking out in the betting.

Timeform Comments

Blackjack Hills (IRE)
Fair Flat winner but out of sorts at Thurles last time ahead of this switch to hurdles. Best watched.
Bon Bon Fizz (IRE)
Fell sole start in points/over hurdles prior to making a winning bumper debut in 8-runner event at Thurles (17f, heavy) in March (for Paul O'Flynn). Second of 10 in a bumper at the Punchestown Festival in April on first run for Gordon Elliott. The one to beat back hurdling.
Bud Fox (IRE)
Bumper winner who has shown ability on all 4 starts over hurdles, placing in maiden at Listowel (2m, good to soft) last time. Should be capable of even better based on bumper form.
Genuine Article
Fairly useful 1m Flat winner but well held in 2 hurdles last winter. Unlikely to be of interest in this sphere until handicapping.
Awayoutback (IRE)
Runner-up on completed start in points (May 2026). The betting should guide to expectations now hurdling.
Bishop Of Rome (FR)
Half-brother to useful hurdler/chaser Sa Majeste (2¼m-3m winner) and fairly useful hurdler/fair chaser Lost In Montmartre (2¼m-21f winner). Made frame only start in Irish points (May 2026). One to note on hurdle debut for leading yard.
Ozark Daze
Fair maiden on Flat for Jack Davison. More one for handicaps over hurdles based on his 2 attempts for new stable this autumn.
Poets Rambler (IRE)
Well held in Kilbeggan bumper on debut in April but showed promise switched to hurdles at Downpatrick 6 months later, finishing third of 9 25 days ago. Entitled to improve.
Quest For Answers (IRE)
£170,000 point recruit. Remote fifth on 3m Punchestown hurdle debut but different proposition dropped markedly in trip when second of 15 over 2m there 3 weeks ago. Should figure prominently again.
Raging Raptor (IRE)
Ice Breeze gelding. Dam (c111/h112) 21f-3m hurdle/chase winner. Check the betting with this newcomer.
River Ore
Modest form in 3 bumpers in the summer and well held on recent hurdle debut.
Time Well Chosen (IRE)
Well Chosen gelding. Half-brother to fair chaser Indian Louis. Dam (c113/h121) 19f-21f hurdle/chase winner. Best watched on debut unless the betting strongly hints otherwise.
Walkwithmyfriend (IRE)
Made frame sole start in points and has shown a fair bit in a couple of bumpers ahead of this switch to hurdles.
Jennys Pride (IRE)
Court Cave mare. Half-sister to 2½m-21f hurdle/chase winner Mac Suibhne. Dam (h110) bumper/2¼m hurdle winner. A watching brief is advised on debut.
Mirrorbelle (IRE)
Pulled up in maiden hurdle (100/1) at Punchestown (2½m, good to soft) on debut 21 days ago, losing touch sixth.
