Timeform View

ARDERA GUN has been knocking at the door in recent starts so Eoin Doyle's 6-y-o earns the narrow vote to gain a breakthrough success at the expense of The Cobblers Wife, who got off the mark at Tramore on penultimate start and continued her run of good form over fences since. Allroadsleadtorome looks a potential improver now handicapping so he can fight out third with Hob's Angel.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Ardera Gun traded at a low of 15.50 and Betfair SP of 17.00 when losing last time, a race in which it raced behind.

Timeform Comments

Reflectionist (FR)
Out of sort over hurdles when last seen for Gavin Cromwell but arrives fit from the Flat, scoring at Ballinrobe in July and backing that up from 11 lb higher at Sligo since. Folly to discount back hurdling.
Butty O Brien (IRE)
Three-time winner over 2½m (soft/heavy) for Patrick Magee. Back hurdling on first start for capable new yard (purchased for only €6,000), and she tended to need her reappearance for previous stable.
Allroadsleadtorome
Attracted strong support when well-held fifth in a bumper at Kelso in May (possibly not facing cheekpieces on that occasion). Finished with running left when down the field on qualifying run at Bellewstown (17f) in early-July. Potential improver now handicapping upped to 2½m.
Rebel Queen (IRE)
Made more impact than previously on the third of her 2m juvenile starts. Hasn't benefited from longer trips as expected more recently, latterly on return at Roscommon (2½m). Starts out in handicaps with a bit to prove.
Thurman (IRE)
Has offered little in 2 handicap starts 4 months apart, more recently over C&D in August. Brian Hayes takes over from 7-lb conditional here.
Ardera Gun (IRE)
Maiden who has placed in consecutive handicaps, again hinting at temperament (reluctant start/hard driven early) when runner-up in big-field handicap at Limerick (21f, good to soft) 18 days ago. Fancied to be bang there from 2 lb higher.
Portetta (IRE)
Step back in the right direction from her slipping mark when 16¼ lengths sixth of 15 at Punchestown (2½m) latest. Player if building on that.
Ballyminnion Boy (IRE)
Shaped with some encouragement at long odds in maidens. Saw out his race with more purpose with hood added at Ballinrobe in August and shaped better than the result at Killarney since, let down by his jumping in the closing stages.
Agent Tequila (IRE)
Modest maiden handicap hurdler who made no impact when sent chasing in March. Offered little back hurdling after 6 months off at Galway in September and tough to enthuse over despite the addition of first-time cheekpieces.
Stumblin In (IRE)
Didn't shape as though poised to capitalise on a falling mark this summer. Wasn't revitalised by switch of stables (left Jack Doyle) last time, either, pulled up at Gowran following 10 weeks off. First-time cheekpieces applied.
The Cobblers Wife (IRE)
Low-mileage 8-y-o who proved a different proposition when landing a gamble at Tramore on stable debut (form working out well). Again strong in the betting when encouraging fourth on chasing debut at Downpatrick in late-August. Of obvious interest back hurdling.
Spellacy's Cross (IRE)
Ran another solid race when fourth of 13 at Limerick (2¾m, soft) in May and probably remained in form at Sligo (3¼m, soft) the following month. Folly to discount from a career-low mark if ready to roll.
Alright George (IRE)
Low-mileage 6-y-o who isn't badly bred for one at this level. Fared no better for switch to handicap hurdles when last seen in January 2025. Dropped another chunk in the weights and while entitled to need this, the market may prove the best guide.
Hob's Angel (IRE)
Took advantage of career-low mark at Clonmel (2½m) in May and largely remained in form since. Unseated early on at Downpatrick last month and possibly found race coming too soon at Punchestown 4 days later. Can bounce back now just 1 lb above her last winning mark.
Diamond Secret (FR)
Promising fifth of 13 on handicap debut at Kilbeggan (2m) in May but has failed to build on that in 2 subsequent starts (in blinkers latest). RESERVE.
Speakasyoufind (IRE)
Standout effort when well-backed second in 19f handicap at Clonmel in June. Ran one of this season's better races in bare form terms but never really got competitive at Downpatrick last month and his wait for a first win looks set to continue. RESERVE.
Le Midnightdancer (FR)
No impact in 3 starts over 2m last season. Potential improver now handicapping upped in trip. RESERVE.
