Timeform View

MODE AVION matched his hurdles form at the first attempt over fences when going close at Sligo in September and he sets the standard. A pair of the chasing debutants could be the main dangers, The Big Clubman appealing as the type to do better over fences and feared most, ahead of Fierce Handay.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Mode Avion traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP twice and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 3 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Fierce Handay (IRE)
Won a pair of handicap hurdles at Fairyhouse last season, travelling powerfully when scoring over 21f in April. Run best ignored when pulled up at Punchestown in May, badly hampered 3 out, so he could go well on chasing debut.
Oaks Soldier (IRE)
Has benefited from going up to 23f in handicap hurdles, just edged out in handicap at Thurles in March before going one better in maiden at Cork. Going the right way but the drop back in trip might not be ideal as he starts off over fences.
Rock On Richie (IRE)
€38,000 3-y-o, Mahler gelding. Half-sister to fair hurdler/fairly useful chaser Boro Tari and 25f hurdle winner Bob Backus. Easy winner of last of 3 starts in points in March. Has a fairly useful standard to aim at as he makes Rules debut.
Royal Soldier (IRE)
Much improved when scoring on handicap hurdle debut at Gowran (2m) in March and in front when falling at the last at Fairyhouse next time (2½m). However, was found to be amiss when pulled up at Cork in May. Off 6 months ahead of going chasing.
Tackletommywoowoo (IRE)
Progressed well over hurdles during second half of last year for Declan Queally, winning 3 times including a listed novice at Cork (3m). Making chasing/stable debut, shaped as if needing the run after 6 months off when eighth of 11 in maiden at Listowel (2¾m) in September.
Take Stock (IRE)
Confirmed promise of previous effort over 2¾m when winning 12-runner handicap hurdle at Bellewstown in April, suited by the drop back to 17f. Will need to find more again as he goes chasing after 6 months off.
The Big Clubman (IRE)
Runner-up on completed start in points before making a winning hurdling debut in maiden at this venue last season. Tried in cheekpieces for handicap bow, excellent effort when second of 24 in listed event at Punchestown (23f) in April. Chasing debutant to note.
The Store Boy
Fair form over hurdles on first 4 starts, though was held when falling at the last in maiden at Fairyhouse on chasing debut in January. Back over hurdles, comfortably won maiden at Ballinrobe in May before third of 6 in novice at Roscommon in July. Could yet do better over fences.
Changeyourstars (IRE)
Point winner who got off the mark over hurdles at the third attempt at Limerick (2½m) last season. Good second in Grade 3 novice at Gowran (23f) in February, though down the field at Limerick when last seen 7 months ago. Probably best watched on chasing debut.
Saveforarainyday (IRE)
Opened her hurdles account in a first-time hood at Limerick in February but well held in handicaps at Fairyhouse and Punchestown subsequently. Made the frame in a point and could still do better now sent chasing after a break.
Mode Avion (FR)
Improved form over hurdles when making a successful handicap debut at Fairyhouse in February. After a couple of lesser efforts, got back on track sent chasing when only narrowly denied in 4-runner maiden at Sligo (2¼m) 5 weeks ago. Major player.
