Timeform View

Those with form under Rules do not set an exacting standard so A SIGHT TO SEA, who won his point and is sure to be well prepared for this, looks the way to go. Jerry The Dreamer and The Lightmaker are also of some interest.

Timeform Comments

A Sight To Sea (IRE)
£190,000 purchase after running out a comfortable winner of sole start in Irish points (Nov 2025). In top hands and highly respected on Rules debut.
Best Trump (IRE)
Lot to like on paper and did show more than on debut when fifth of 12 in a maiden hurdle at Wincanton in March. Off since but should be more to come as he gains experience.
Champ Kabai
Collared only in the dying strides by stable-companion Bailly's Comet on Wincanton debut a year ago. Unable to match that form in the listed bumper at Cheltenham on New Year's Day. Stable in good form ahead of hurdling debut.
Jerry The Dreamer (IRE)
£40,000 5-y-o, Blue Bresil gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners, including useful hurdler Highway One O Two, stayed 21f, and useful hurdler/chaser Doctor Harper. Won second of 2 starts in Irish points in January so he's a Rules newcomer of interest.
Navarau (FR)
Related to plenty of winners but just minor promise in a pair of hurdling starts 10 months apart. Hood on first time.
One Cool Kid (IRE)
€38,000 3-y-o, Yeats gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Allavina and fair hurdler One Cool Scorpion. Dam unraced. Tongue tied for debut and displayed signs of ability when third of 6 in a C&D novice 3 weeks ago. Likely to build on that.
Potter (IRE)
Dam unraced half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser (2½m-23f winner) Bells 'N' Banjos. Won only start in points in March but was too keen to show full worth on hurdling debut 2 weeks ago.
Squib
Sent off 11/2 but always behind when ninth of 10 in bumper at Hereford (2m, soft) in February. Never really dangerous on last month's hurdling debut, either.
The Lightmaker (IRE)
£24,000 3-y-o, Highland Reel gelding. Half-brother to 2 winners, including French hurdler/chase winner Born To Honour. Dam 8.4f winner. Form of his debut second in a course bumper in December franked since and he cemented a solid start when third at Wincanton. One to consider now hurdling.
The Sky At Night
£14,000 3-y-o, second foal: dam (h105) 17f hurdle winner. Runner-up sole start in points (Mar 2025).
Vale Magic (FR)
€25,000 3-y-o, Goliath Du Berlais gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful French hurdler Gold Cent. Dam, 17f hurdle winner, half-sister to very smart hurdler (stayed 2½m) Sentry Duty. Limited encouragement in a Newton Abbot bumper last month.
Topsham Tide (IRE)
Showed nothing in an Exeter bumper on debut last December for Chris Down but changed yards and much more like it when second of 11 at this venue in April. Now tackles obstacles.
