A few in with a squeak but MR MCWHINNY has won 4 of his last 5 starts in this discipline and having run well when finding one too strong over hurdles last month, Tom Ellis' 8-y-o can quickly regain the winning thread back chasing. Two To Tango is proving consistent this season, so heads up the opposition, with last-time-out winner Rangatira Jack rounding off the shortlist on return.

Timeform Comments

Great Dance (FR)
Fair debut bumper winner who made a promising start to her hurdling career last season, making the frame in listed company at Haydock (21f) in April. Shaped as if better for the run over C&D on return last month and now attentions are turned to chasing. Tongue tie reapplied.
My Friend Sean (IRE)
Prolific over hurdles last year but yet to get his head in front over fences, his standout effort this season coming at Uttoxeter in July. Returns from nearly 3 months off and seemingly needs respite from the assessor.
Two To Tango
Fitted with cheekpieces when finally getting off the mark at Stratford (19f) in March. Placed in 4 of 5 starts since, possibly unlucky not to collect at that venue last month (untidy leap at the last). Should go well again.
Sage Green (IRE)
Irish point winner who made a winning hurdling debut at Warwick back in March 2025. Let down by his jumping on both starts over fences at Wincanton in March but coped well with the step up to a staying trip on his return to hurdling at Taunton the following month. Given another try chasing.
Diligent Militia (FR)
Low-mileage sort who shaped a lot better than a remote fourth suggests on April's 2m handicap chase debut here, in contention until a chance-ending mistake 2 out (rider lost irons). Jumping again let him down at Warwick the following month and off since (has had breathing operation in interim).
Can't Resist It
Fair bumper performer in Ireland and has been lightly raced over hurdles, shaping as if better for the run when fourth of 8 in maiden at Sedgefield (17f, good) 17 days ago. Entitled to come on from that now switched to the larger obstacles (unplaced in point).
Mr Mcwhinny (IRE)
Thrived since joining current yard. Cruised clear to make it a hat-trick (fourth win from last 5 chase starts) in a small-field event at Newton Abbot (21f) in September and ran well despite being unable to continue his winning sequence over hurdles last time. Fancied to be bang there again.
Karton Plein (FR)
Scored second time up over hurdles at Southwell in early-2025 but failed to kick on as expected last season, running badly on both starts when last seen in the spring. Needs this switch to fences to have a transformative effect but that's possible (runner-up in Irish point).
L'empire Vert (FR)
Notched a second career win in 11-runner event at Ffos Las (19f, soft) in April and seemingly rusty on return at Worcester (2m, soft) just over 3 weeks ago, going in snatches. Back up in trip and should be much closer to form here.
Rangatira Jack
Down the weights and bolted up in 3-runner event at Warwick (2½m, good) when last seen in May, under pressure a fair way out but responding well. Returns from just 2 lb higher but doesn't have much of a record fresh.
Bahtiyar (FR)
Long-standing maiden but he arrives in form, finishing second of 7 at Stratford (23f, good to soft) 18 days ago. 5 lb out of the weights but worth considering. Engaged 3.13 Warwick Tuesday.
