CORNER FORWARD wasn't seen to best effect sent handicapping when third at Ffos Las in April, so he is worth another chance with this longer trip promising to suit on his return. The main danger could be I Heard A Rumour, who remains with potential also making her second handicap start, with V Power completing the shortlist.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

I Heard A Rumour has traded at 50% or less of Betfair SP 3 times on its last 4 starts: The Padster has traded at 50% or less of Betfair SP 3 times on its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Are You Joking (IRE)
Made frame both starts in Irish points and showed a bit more than on hurdling debut when sixth of 9 in novice at Uttoxeter (2½m) in March. Drop back to 2m against him when well-beaten fourth here next time, so he could yet do better returned to further on handicap bow.
Highbury Hill
Bounced back to form when opening her account in handicap over this C&D in January. However, ran poorly next time and went with little fluency when third of 7 at Hexham in April. Off 6 months since.
Stung By Tariffs
Made the frame twice on soft ground from 3 starts in maiden hurdles, but sent handicapping he was pulled up at Haydock (21f, good to soft) in March. Should stay this far, though needs to get back on the up after 8 months off.
Man Maid
Fared better than previously over hurdles when fourth of 6 in handicap at Ffos Las (2½m) in March. Upped further in trip, confirmed that improvement when never-nearer third of 9 at this course (3m) the following month. More needed on her return.
Isabella Islay
Progressed with each of her first 3 starts, winning maiden at Hereford (2½m) in March. Ran well sent handicapping when third of 7 at Newton Abbot (2¼m) in May, form boosted by the first 2 since. Off 6 months ahead of first run since leaving Clive Boultbee-Brooks.
Corner Forward (IRE)
Showed ability in maiden hurdles before finding it a barely adequate test when third of 7 on handicap debut at Ffos Las (2m, good) in April. Off since, but yard going well and he remains capable of better up in trip. Major player.
Gimarias (IRE)
Left previous efforts behind switched to a handicap when close third of 9 at Bangor in April, the winner scoring again next time. Capable of getting involved if ready to go after 6 months off.
Moorefields (IRE)
Off the mark at the second attempt over hurdles at Exeter but hasn't managed to kick on. Was in the process of making a promising chasing debut before being brought down at Ffos Las back in November 2024, though hasn't been seen since. Has first run since leaving Chris Down.
Jacksbar
Much improved tried in a hood when getting off the mark in a Uttoxeter handicap (2½m) in December 2024. Ran well without the headgear when second both subsequent outings, upped to 3m at Southwell in April last year. Has 18-month absence to overcome.
Midnight Pass
Remains a maiden but was placed on her final start for Emma Lavelle in July. Ran poorly on stable debut, though quickly got back on track when third of 13 in handicap over this C&D 24 days ago.
Agent Argylle (IRE)
Irish point winner who, in line with his pedigree, shaped like a stayer when mid-field sole outing in bumpers. Little impact in his qualifying runs at around 2½m over hurdles early in the year, but likely to be in need of further as he goes handicapping after 7 months off.
I Heard A Rumour (IRE)
Bit of promise in her qualifying runs last season, before unsuited by the drop back to 2m when sixth of 10 on handicap/seasonal debut at Worcester last month. Merits consideration returned to further with Harry Skelton on board for first time.
Viva Vincente (IRE)
Cheap purchase given his pedigree. Down the field only start in bumpers but shaped better than on hurdling debut when fifth of 13 in novice at Hereford (2m) in February. Failed to repeat that effort next time, though, and absent 8 months ahead of handicap bow.
Nowherenearmilan (IRE)
Little encouragement in 2 bumpers and only poor form in 2m novice/maiden hurdles, tailed off at this course when last seen in April. Bred to be suited by this step up in trip as she goes handicapping after 6 months off.
V Power
Had a productive year on the Flat, scoring 3 times over 1¾m on all-weather. Hadn't offered much in 4 starts over hurdles back in 2024, but left those efforts behind when runner-up over this C&D last month (the winner scoring again next time). Possibilities.
The Padster (FR)
Remains a maiden and hasn't always looked straightforward, racing freely when fourth of 13 in handicap at Worcester in July. Others more persuasive returning from a 3-month break.
Angel Wave
Never involved but went with more encouragement than previously when fourth of 14 in maiden hurdle at this course (2m) in April. Remains with potential as he goes back up in trip for handicap/seasonal debut.
Deauville Lady
Well held only start in bumpers and it's been a similar story over hurdles, bred to stay 2½m but faring no better sent handicapping at Sedgefield in April. Returns from 7 months off with enough to prove racing from 1 lb out of the weights.
