Timeform View

WOBWOBWOB returned to winning ways in decisive fashion at Catterick last week and he remains on a handy mark under a penalty. He is fancied to follow up, with the consistent Vince le Prince the pick for second, ahead of Abduction.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

There is a chance of a pace burnout early, and Vince Le Prince is one who could suffer as a result: A strong early pace seems highly likely. Ashen could be suited if held up as expected.

Timeform Comments

Abduction (FR)
Successful twice earlier in the year, the latest over C&D in April. Has made the frame on several occasions since, third of 13 at Newcastle 23 days ago. Enters calculations from 4 lb below his last winning mark.
Wobwobwob (IRE)
Built on encouragement of previous couple of outings when capitalising on a much reduced mark at Catterick 8 days ago, in command 2f out. Carries a penalty but he's a strong contender in his current form, with blinkers back on replacing the visor.
Yorkshire Glory (IRE)
Enjoyed a most productive 25/26 all-weather campaign, recording his ninth win with success at Newcastle (6f) in March. Making his second start back from a break, possibly still needed the run when down the field over the same C&D 23 days ago.
Black Storm (IRE)
Making second start in blinkers, gained a first handicap success at Catterick in August. Wasn't in the same form next 3 outings, though switched to cheekpieces he fared better when 4¼ lengths fourth of 15 to Wobwobwob over the same C&D 8 days ago. Blinkers now back on.
The Gay Blade
6-time winner in first half of the year and returned to form when length fourth of 10 at Catterick (6f) last month. Respectable 4½ lengths fifth of 15 to Wobwobwob at Catterick 8 days ago, though remains 2 lb above his last winning mark.
Ashen (IRE)
Not long with current stable when opening account at Ayr (7f) in May. Has continued in decent heart since, making it 4 consecutive in-frame efforts when fourth of 13 at Newcastle (5f) 15 days ago. Can give another good account with step back up in trip to suit.
Carolus Magnus (IRE)
Has a good record here, his last 2 wins over this C&D with the latest in June. Soon bounced back from a lesser effort when second at this track in September, beaten only by a 3-y-o improver.
Not Me
Making first start since leaving Ivan Furtado, got off the mark in handicap at Chester in June. However, he hasn't gone on from that effort in 4 subsequent outings, well beaten at Newcastle last time.
Vince Le Prince
Gained reward for a string of consistent efforts when making all at Catterick in September. Has continued in good heart over the same C&D since, 1¾ lengths third of 15 to Wobwobwob at Catterick 8 days ago. Can make another bold bid.
Bay Breeze
Goes well under testing conditions and recorded back-to-back 6f wins at Hamilton in September. Has been below form on good ground the last twice, seventh of 10 at Newmarket 4 days ago.
Jkr Cobbler (IRE)
Notched a fifth success at Ayr in July. Wasn't in the same form next few starts, before bouncing back to his best when scoring in good style over this C&D 23 days ago. Task is now to build on latest effort.
India Gold (IRE)
Maiden winner over this C&D a year ago who was a good second in 14-runner handicap at Bath (1m) in June. Has run poorly last 3 starts, though, tried in cheekpieces when well held at Newmarket (9f) 5 days ago. Now switches to blinkers.
