Maghlaak
Fairly useful on the Flat and over hurdles for Adrian Keatley before making a winning start over fences for current yard at Southwell a year ago. However, he's been below that level under various codes since, tailed off over hurdles at Uttoxeter in September. Cheekpieces back on.
Bathgate
Successful 3 times last season, including back-to-back wins at Catterick (19f) early this year. Low-key start to the current campaign but there were better signs despite finishing down the field at Sedgefield (2m) 18 days ago. Has dropped below his last winning mark.
Bogha Baiste (IRE)
Has been shaping up well over hurdles, making the frame once more (on the back of a breathing operation) when fourth of 9 in novice at Hexham (2m) last month. Goes back up in trip for only his second handicap start.
Presentandcorrect (IRE)
Matched the pick of his fair bumper form when third in a Cartmel novice (2¾m) on hurdles bow in May. Has found one too strong both starts since, returning from 4 months off in a Hexham maiden (2½m) in October. Interesting as he goes handicapping with tongue strap added.

Fairly useful maiden on the Flat who was well below his fair Irish hurdle form in a couple of starts last summer. Fared better on return from 11 months off (had a breathing operation) when third in maiden at Hexham in June, though tailed off on the Flat since. Makes handicap hurdle debut.
Final Straw (IRE)
Improved for headgear/switch to handicaps when landing back-to-back 3m contests at Kempton/Plumpton a year ago. However, below form next time on final start for Nicky Henderson and after 11 months off he finished down the field at Carlisle 2 weeks ago.
