Timeform View

Successful in a Southwell maiden hurdle back in March, NICE ONE ERIC disappointed starting out in handicaps at Ayr a month later. However, still lightly raced he looks to have been found a very winnable race now chasing for the first time and could be the answer before market clues. Looking Splendid boasts a really good record fresh and may emerge as the main danger.

Timeform Comments

Nice One Eric
Improved by the run in maiden hurdles, found a good opportunity but still going about things in a pleasing manner when off the mark at Southwell (2m) in March. Disappointed when pulled up on handicap debut at Ayr (20.5f) in April but still early days and found a weak race sent North for chasing bow.
Looking Splendid
Dual hurdles winner last autumn who found immediate improvement sent chasing when bolting up at Kelso (21.6f) in April. Posted a couple of respectable placed efforts thereafter during the spring and he commands respect back from 5 months off with his record fresh very much a positive one.
Rosie Baloo
Winning bumper performer who got off the mark at the fourth attempt in Sedgefield novice hurdle in January. Similar form when mid-field in 2 handicaps at up to 23f thereafter last season. Predominantly Flat stable no stranger to success in this discipline and interesting if supported now chasing.
Humble Jumble (IRE)
Debut bumper winner. Placed twice in novice hurdles (including here) but made an inauspicious start to his handicap career when pulled up at Perth in April. Off 6 months ahead of this switch to fences (point winner and very much a chaser on looks).
Halpha Soleil (FR)
Bumper/hurdles winner. Long-standing maiden over fences but down to a career-low mark and returned to form after 4 months off when just touched off at Hexham (2½m, good to soft) in June. Consistency hasn't been his strong suit, though, and he may be vulnerable to less exposed rivals.
