Timeform View

BEL OMBRE looked a natural when a wide-margin winner on his chasing debut at Worcester and is fancied to make light of a 10 lb rise here. The returning Kdeux Saint Fray has some solid form to his name and appeals as the one to chase him home.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Bel Ombre traded at a high of 6.40 and Betfair SP of 6.40 when winning last time, a race in which it led and travelled strongly early on.

Timeform Comments

Kdeux Saint Fray (FR)
Got off the mark over fences at Cheltenham (2½m) last November and also posted some fine efforts when in the frame in strong contests after. Returns with yard in good nick and he appeals as the sort to do well again this season.
Ventura Highway (FR)
Opened his account over fences in minor event at Auteuil (2¾m) last May but was badly out of sorts after for Mickaël Seror and came in last of 7 for his new yard in handicap chase at Newton Abbot (21f, good to soft) in May. Has a fair bit to prove.
Jaipaletemps (FR)
Enjoyed a prolific 2025/26, winning 5 times over fences. Shaped as if needing the run after 7 months off when last of 6 in handicap chase at Ffos Las (2m, soft) 2 weeks ago. Should strip sharper here.
Bel Ombre (IRE)
Fair bumper/hurdles winner and much improved on his chasing debut when impressively landing 6-runner handicap at Worcester (2½m, good to soft) last month, jumping boldly in front. Hiked up 10 lb but the one to beat.
Rip Wheeler (IRE)
Much improved for the switch to fences and signed off for last season with a fourth victory in 4-runner handicap at Fontwell (2¾m, good to firm) in April. Has won off a break so not taken lightly on his reappearance.
