Joe Tizzard's WALK TALL impressed as a future chaser in the making in a relatively light campaign over hurdles last season and this winning pointer is taken to make a successful start in this sphere. Easy C&D scorer C'Mon So rates a big threat though, while Aill Dubh appeals as the pick of the remainder.

Timeform Comments

Walk Tall (IRE)
Low-mileage 6-y-o who signed off last season with a good third of 7 in handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot (3¼m, good) in April. This winning pointer has since had a breathing operation and appeals as the sort to do much better over fences. Interesting.
Lunar Contact (IRE)
Fair winning hurdler/chaser in 2024. Lightly raced since and on the retreat when unseated rider twelth in hunter chase over C&D (good to soft) in April. Needs to bounce back.
Defence Witness (IRE)
Doubled his tally over fences at Catterick (25f) in January. Mixed record since and a well-held seventh of 8 to C'mon So over C&D (good to soft) 17 days ago. Has a bit to prove now.
Wise Move (IRE)
Multiple winning pointer. Good second over hurdles at Wetherby last December but not in the same form since and pulled up on his last 2 runs in the spring. Chasing debutant.
C'mon So (IRE)
Maiden hurdler. Made an impressive start over fences with success in 8-runner handicap over C&D (good to soft) 17 days ago, forging clear run-in. Hiked up 7 lb but has more to offer and expected to be bang there.
Gibberwell (IRE)
Scored over C&D last March but proved more miss than hit after and was pulled up 3 times last season. Others are much preferred.
Aill Dubh (IRE)
Doubled his chasing tally at Cartmel (21f) in July. Posted a creditable third at Sedgefield (3¼m) in September but came in last of 6 at Newcastle (2½m, good) 10 days ago. Could bounce back with usual cheekpieces refitted.
Croagh Patrick (IRE)
A course winner but this veteran is unreliable nowadays and arrives on the back of a well-held fourth of 8 to C'mon So over C&D (good to soft) 17 days ago. 4 lb "wrong" in the weights too.
