Timeform View

LUNAR TRIX created a fine impression when scoring here last month and may prove too strong for fellow course winner Chicker. Sea Tempest and Clondaw Buster appeal most of the hurdling debutants.

Timeform Comments

Chicker
Fairly useful in bumpers (mid-field in strong Aintree Grade 2). Winner on hurdling debut here (2½m) in May. Backed that up when second on return at Perth (2m) prior to finding Grade 2 Persian War too hot last time. Return to 2m no issue for this keen-going sort and remains capable of better.
Lunar Trix (IRE)
Comfortable winner of sole start in point bumpers. Still raw when creating a fine impression to follow up over C&D on hurdling debut, passing the post full of running. Looks capable of defying a penalty en route to better things.
Avatar Jet (IRE)
Fair winner up to 1m on all-weather this year. Ran poorly in first-time blinkers on latest start in that sphere and hardly appeals as an obvious type on hurdling debut.
Clondaw Buster (IRE)
€28,000 3-y-o, £120,000 5-y-o, Berkshire gelding. Half-brother to modest hurdler/fair chaser Imperial Joe. Expensive purchase after finishing runner-up sole start in Irish points over the winter. That form has some merit, and he needs a second look now sent hurdling by a good yard.
Fleu Du Glaye (IRE)
Bred to stay well. Shaped in kind when third in a pair of Irish bumpers for P. J. Rothwell in May/June. Something to find on bare form now sent hurdling by new yard and could be one for handicaps/longer trips.
Lou Des Bordes (FR)
Showed nothing in a couple of bumpers and similar story on hurdling bow at Southwell in April.
Riptide (IRE)
€15,500 3-y-o, £80,000 4-y-o, Galileo Chrome gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler (stays 3m) Matty's Getaway out of useful hurdler/fair chase winner up to 2½m Shadow Eile. Won sole start in Irish points (May 2026). Others arrive with stronger point form, but the market should guide.
Sea Tempest (IRE)
Related to some above-average jumpers. Promising 1-length third on bumper debut (winner won on hurdling bow earlier this week). Beaten favourite when 8 lengths behind another subsequent winner at Perth in May. Respected on hurdling debut, with stable jockey riding here rather than Aintree.
Shah (FR)
Easy winner third start in Irish points. Wasn't given a hard time when well held over C&D on hurdling debut. Probably a handicap project for capable stable.
Cool Ocean (IRE)
Second in an Irish point. Badly in need of the experience when tailed off behind Lunar Trix on hurdling debut here.
Indigo Sky
Free-going sort who isn't badly bred. Well beaten in bumper/maiden hurdle starts, jumping ponderously at Kempton on final start for Lucy Wadham in March. Hardly a positive that she's already on her third yard, either.
Mouth Watering (FR)
Offered something to work on first of 2 bumper starts here in July. Given a considerate introduction to hurdling at Worcester (2m, soft) and unlikely to make an impact in the short term.
New Chapter
Planteur filly. Half-sister to fair hurdler Following Chapter. Dam, multiple point winner, sister to fairly useful chaser (barely stayed 3½m) Following Dreams. Looks one for the longer term on paper.
