Timeform View

BARTHOLOMEW was notably progressive in 3 juvenile hurdles last season, signing off with a fine second in a Punchestown Grade 1 in the spring. A recent spin on the Flat ought to have put him spot on for this and he's likely to take some stopping. That said, Willie Mullins' Love Me Tender impressed when bolting up in a race that's working out well and he's an obvious danger. Golden Handshake may emerge best of the others.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

This could develop into a sprint for home, and Love Me Tender could be well placed to capitalise.

Timeform Comments

Golden Handshake
Fairly useful middle-distance winner on Flat. Shaping well prior to unseating on yard/hurdles debut at Galway in August and made no mistake in winning both starts since, his jumping slick when landing 4-runner novice at Listowel (2m) 7 weeks ago. Cheekpieces applied and he can do better again.
Bartholomew
Notably progressive in 3 juvenile hurdles last season, finishing second in a Grade 1 at Punchestown in April. Well backed but shaped as if better for the run back on the level at Gowran at the beginning of September and that should put him spot on for this. Sets the standard.
Bunker Buster (IRE)
Well backed when placing in solid bumpers at Navan/Punchestown last season and off the mark on what was effectively his hurdling debut when readily beating 15 rivals in a Limerick maiden (17f) 3 weeks ago, unchallenged. This tougher but he's clearly open to improvement.
Love Me Tender (GER)
€180,000 purchase having landed 2 of his 3 starts in France and shaped encouragingly when tenth in the Ebor on stable debut in August, his inexperience showing. Made mistakes but bags of speed when easily off the mark on hurdles bow at Listowel in September and he's evidently a bright prospect.
Darby O'gill (IRE)
Walk In The Park gelding out of a smart mare who made the frame on 2 of his 3 starts in France earlier this year for N. George & A. Zetterholm, latterly when fourth of 18 in 4-y-o hurdle at Auteuil in May. Joined top stable for €260,000 thereafter but pitched into a warm race after 6 months off.
