Timeform View

Olly Murphy looks to hold the aces in this novice and, seemingly the choice of Sean Bowen, TAP TAP SHAMIE earns the vote to double his tally sporting a first-time hood. His stablemate Lirion was given a considerate introduction to hurdling back in the spring and he heads up the opposition with significant improvement on the cards. Hurdling debutants Ink Black Heart and Not Without Danger can fight out minor honours.

Timeform Comments

Tap Tap Shamie (IRE)
Winning Irish pointer who finished runner-up on both starts last season (strong form on debut). Completed a simple task at Hexham in May but failed to improve sent handicapping after 5 months off when fourth of 9 at Perth (2m, soft) recently. Remains early days and a first-time hood goes on.
Bourbon Floridhe (FR)
€47,000 3-y-o, Tunis gelding. Closely related to a winner, and half-brother to fairly useful hurdler/chaser Paris Texas and French hurdler/chaser Cafe Au Lit. 1 of 2 debutants for connections and worth a cursory market glance.
Ideal Du Gazeau (GER)
£26,000 3-y-o, Brametot gelding. Half-brother to numerous winners on Flat, including useful 7f/1m winner Namhroodah. Dam ran twice on Flat. 1 of 2 debutants for connections and the betting can guide expectations.
Ink Black Heart
Made the frame all 3 starts in bumpers (trained by Tom Weston on debut). Latest Exeter effort back in March bit below the level of his first couple of runs but of obvious interest now hurdling for a yard firing on all cylinders. Has had a breathing operation.
Lirion (FR)
Runner-up in a couple of bumpers 12 months apart (trained by Tom Weston on debut) and very much caught the eye when fourth of 8 in maiden at Ayr (2m, soft) on hurdles bow in April, given a considerate introduction and finishing with plenty of running left. Open to significant improvement on return.
Mighty Rhythm
Left poorly placed and never threatened to get competitive in a Bangor bumper back in the spring and beaten as far as on debut 6 months on over C&D recently. Likely outsider on hurdling debut.
Mr Winter (IRE)
Little promise in a pair of bumpers and only a little more encouragement in a couple of maiden hurdles 8 months apart, most recently over C&D. One for handicaps after this.
Not Without Danger (IRE)
Promising first effort when second of 10 in C&D bumper in April 2025 but well below that level on both subsequent starts, most recently at Newbury in February (tongue tied). Worth keeping a close eye on in the betting on hurdling debut.
Right Royal Rascal (IRE)
Showed a bit in a Hereford bumper in April but shaped as if in need of the experience 6 months on when ninth of 11 in novice over C&D (soft) on hurdles bow recently. Likely to need more time.
Golden Sanjida
Hooded and first form in bumpers for Noel Williams when second at Plumpton (2¼m, good) in April. Showed promise under considerate handling on her hurdling debut when sixth of 13 in maiden at Uttoxeter (2m, good to soft) recently and likely to improve. Seemingly yard's third string.
Tottie's Moon
Pether's Moon filly who shaped like a stayer in a pair of bumpers but little promise in a couple of maiden hurdles in recent weeks. Probably one for handicaps after this.
