KARAKA DE THAIX might have been off the track for a while but made such a good impression when winning in points (subsequently sold for ten times more than his 3-y-o sales price) that he gets the nod on Rules debut. Debrave Soldier can't be ignored given connections, with Titi Montmartre another to consider.

Timeform Comments

Churchstone Rover (IRE)
Promising third in maiden hurdle at Tipperary on debut in May 2024 for Jonathan Sweeney and finished lame when next seen later on that season having switched yards. Best watched after 2 years off.
Debrave Soldier (IRE)
€28,000 3-y-o, £115,000 4-y-o, Soldier of Fortune gelding. Half-brother to bumper winner Theflyingking. Runner-up sole start in Irish points in December 2025 and makes appeal on Rules debut.
Fine Tuning (IRE)
Made the frame in 2 bumpers earlier in the year, though it was disappointing that he couldn't match his debut effort last time. Market best guide now switched to hurdling.
Genietoile (FR)
Maiden under Rules. Made frame twice over hurdles in 2023/24 and, after returning from nearly 2 years off, was placed on both completed starts over fences last season. Fell here when last seen in March (has since had another breathing operation) and entitled to be thereabouts back hurdling.
Itsyourcall (IRE)
£40,000 5-y-o, Berkshire gelding. Half-brother to 11.6f winner Silver Atom. Dam maiden on Flat (stayed 11.5f). Flat bred who was successful on sole start in points in April. However, the runner-up has failed to uphold that effort in both starts under Rules.
Karaka De Thaix (FR)
£13,000 3-y-o, £135,000 5-y-o, Cokoriko gelding. Dam, runner-up in French 1¾m-15f Flat events, half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 3m) Baraka de Thaix and useful hurdler (stayed 23f) Freedom To Dream. Comfortable winner sole start in points in March 2025 and makes plenty of appeal.
Put The Lights On (IRE)
Milan gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to smart hurdler/chaser (stayed 21f) Don't Touch It. Makes plenty of appeal on paper and betting may provide more clues of what's expected on debut.
Ignite The Spark (IRE)
Blue Bresil gelding. Well-held last of 4 finishers sole start in Irish points and showed no promise in maiden hurdle on Rules debut over C&D recently. Tongue strap goes on but can only be watched.
Titi Montmartre (FR)
Montmartre gelding. Half-brother to French 2¼m hurdle winner Jaffarius. Won sole start in points in February. Makes the shortlist.
Espiritu Park
Walk In The Park mare. Half-sister to fair hurdle/useful chase winner David's Well. Off mark in points at second attempt in March. Makes some appeal on paper and worth a market check.
