Timeform View

PURE CARBON developed into a much better chaser than hurdler last season, typically travelling well when recording his third success of the campaign at Stratford in April, and he can pick up where he left off with his yard back amongst the winners. He gets the vote ahead of Rula Bula, who is better judged on the promise of her chasing debut effort.

Timeform Comments

Pure Carbon
Maiden hurdler who enjoyed a productive campaign sent chasing last season, winning 3 times including 4-runner novice handicap at Stratford when last seen in April. Major player on his return.
A Moments Madness (IRE)
Off the mark in handicap at this course (19f) in spring last year when trained by Warren Greatrex. Stepped forward from his seasonal/stable debut effort when eleventh of 24 in the Foxhunters at Aintree (21f) in April, but has been off 7 months since.
Rula Bula (IRE)
Fairly useful dual winner over hurdles who is built for chasing and, after 6 months off, made a promising debut in this sphere when second in 5-runner handicap at Uttoxeter last month. Unseated early at Chepstow 4 days ago, but she's worth another chance.
Centara (IRE)
Bold-jumping front runner who made hay over fences in first half of last season, winning 5 times all with Jay Tidball on board. Yet to fire in the current campaign but he's now dropped to 11 lb below his last winning mark.
Imperial Bede (FR)
Doubled his tally over fences at Catterick (19f) in February but form has gone the wrong way this season, again finishing well held at Worcester (2m) 18 days ago.
