Timeform View

RED RUBIO has form that reads well in this company. He gets the nod over Molly's Lad, who could improve up in trip on handicap bow. Drumlee Orders and Lord Virginia also need considering in an open-looking event.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Red Rubio traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP twice on 3 of its last 4 starts: Clear Sky has traded at 50% or less of Betfair SP 3 times on its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Red Rubio (IRE)
Successful sole start in Irish points. Some solid-looking form among his 4 in-frame finishes to date. Sent off favourite/still looked on the raw side when length second of 5 in Ffos Las (2½m) handicap in May. Weighted to go one better but wouldn't want this to be a crawl back down in trip.
Molly's Lad
Lightly-raced 4-y-o from a good jumping family. Showed promise in bumpers/junior hurdles around 2m last season, looking the type who'll relish this step up in trip (bred for even further). Still going well when brought down at Bangor (17f) in March and entitled to improve on handicap debut.
Cotton Socks
Capitalised on below-par effort from odds on jolly (who won subsequently) when making it second time lucky over hurdles at Fakenham in April. Didn't look entirely straightforward that day, though can be given a pass for last month's handicap bow/comeback run (probably needed the run).
Exactly Right
Fair 1m winner on the Flat for Ralph Beckett in the spring. Stepped up on his juvenile hurdle form when 2½-lengths third of 13 on handicap bow at Taunton in December. Presumably badly in need of his comeback run on Flat latest. Could resume progress for yard that does well with this type.
Clear Sky
Standout effort when beaten 7 lengths in Exeter juvenile run at a stop-start gallop in March. Well beaten both handicap starts over 2m this season. Mark already on the retreat and does at least explore a longer trip here (dam 2½m winner).
Drumlee Orders (IRE)
Third sole start in Irish point (form has some substance). No impact in 3 hurdle starts, not given a hard time on qualifying run/return at Worcester (2m, 250/1). Type who could do better back up in trip on handicap debut, especially if supported.
Lord Virginia (FR)
Attracted support on first try over this sort of trip (bred to suit) when 9½ lengths third of 9 at Fontwell last time. Mixed messages regarding the strength of that form, though still looks to have a solid chance at the weights on only third handicap start. Wears first-time cheekpieces.
