POETS WHISPER picked up in striking fashion once the penny dropped to win a Kelso bumper in the spring and is taken to follow up now hurdling. Noel Kelly's new recruit Tyson Fury has placed several times in similar races already this season and should figure again. Teeshan hasn't been seen since finishing down the field in the Champion Bumper at the 2024 Cheltenham Festival but would still very much enter the reckoning should the betting vibes be strong on this return for Dan Skelton.

Timeform Comments

Blue Sweeper (IRE)
€100,000 purchase as a 3-y-o who is a half-brother to useful hurdle winner/smart chaser Jacob's Ladder (2m-2½m winner) and fair staying chaser Daring Plan. Wears a tongue tie on debut. Would need considering if the betting vibes are strong.
Cape Warrior
Runner-up in all 3 bumpers. Shaped as if in need of the experience when fifth of 6 on Kelso hurdle debut (2m, good to soft) 16 days ago. May do better.
Dilrisk (FR)
Showed promise in 2 bumpers in the spring but well held on first attempt over hurdles here 18 days ago and Poets Whisper looks the stable first string.
Jackson Court (IRE)
£45,000 purchase after dead-heating in an Irish point in March. 9/1, unseated first on Ayr hurdle debut 9 days ago.
Karate Kid (IRE)
Irish bumper winner in December 2024 but offered little in a bumper and maiden hurdle for Warren Greatrex last season and also well held on Sedgefield stable debut 3 weeks ago. Tongue tie back on. Probably more one for handicaps after this.
Magical Major (IRE)
£60,000 recruit from the Irish pointing field. Worth a second look in the betting.
Master Jack
Modest form in 2 bumpers last winter and well held switched to hurdles in recent months. Outsider.
Minutes To Spare (IRE)
Probably more one for the longer term judged on his opening eighth of 12 in 2m Ayr maiden hurdle (soft) in March. Has a tongue tie added on return (has had breathing operation).
Moorhead
Runner-up on sole start in points. Third in a Hexham bumper in the spring but more one for handicaps based on his 2 efforts over hurdles this autumn.
Mymatemac (IRE)
6/1 when unseating in an Irish point in May. Best watched here unless the betting speaks in his favour.
Old Colony (IRE)
£65,000 purchase after finishing third in an Irish point in April. One to note in the betting.
Poets Whisper (IRE)
Poet's Word who overcame inexperience to land short odds in a Kelso bumper (2m, good to soft) in April. Good prospect.
Teeshan (IRE)
Easy winner of an Irish point and followed up in equally impressive style in an Exeter bumper in February 2024. The Champion Bumper at Cheltenham proved too much a month later and hasn't been seen since. Has left Paul Nicholls and it'll be very interesting to see what the betting makes of him.
Tyson Fury
Useful at best on the Flat, returning to winning ways in claimer at Dundalk (10.5f) last month (final start for Denis Hogan). 0-8 over hurdles but he has reached the frame in maidens on his last 5 starts and is likely to be on the premises again.
Eroico (IRE)
Fair maiden on the Flat. Not an obvious one to make a winning start over hurdles.
