Timeform View

GAELIC GLOW hails from an in-form yard and may well get off the mark on just his third handicap start. Interesting stable-switcher Madame La Papillon and course bumper winner Nobotheratall head the dangers, along with Circuit Breaker, while Mr Caulfield and Heritier are worth noting for support.

Timeform Comments

Circuit Breaker
Well beaten in 3 handicap hurdles since promising debut success in this sphere in October 2024. In fair form on the Flat more recently. Cheekpieces added for first time over hurdles and on a potentially handy mark if putting his best foot forward.
Mr Caulfield (IRE)
Point winner. Standout effort under Rules when runner-up in a 21f hurdle at Sligo in August. No threat on handicap debut at Downpatrick (33/1) latest. Irish yard knows the time of day and one to note for support with Gavin Sheehan booked.
Rossbridge (IRE)
Irish point winner. Made a winning hurdle debut in 8-runner novice at Ludlow in February 2024. Back on track third start back from an absence when successful on chasing debut at Musselburgh (2½m) in December. Back hurdling after further 11 months off and drop back in trip may not be ideal.
Madame La Papillon
Fair bumper winner. Placed on 3 of 4 hurdle starts last season, the other a forgivable effort. Shaped well when 6 lengths third of 15 in a series final handicap at Kelso on final start for Claire Dyson in March. Can run a big race off 1 lb higher if settling on return.
Paddys Policy (IRE)
Ran up to his best when runner-up in class 3 event at Wetherby on return last year. Bled on final start last season before finishing well beaten on reappearance this time around. Remains to be seen if addition of promising conditional/first-time hood sparks a return to form.
Kingston Bridge (IRE)
Course winner who landed a pair of 2½m handicaps in 2024. Off since finishing down the field at Kelso in December of that year, and this likely a pipe-opener over a shorter-than-ideal trip.
Kadjar Des Mottes (FR)
Fair maiden hurdler/chaser at his best. Looked badly out of sorts at the end of last season. Back down in trip on return and hardly looks the pick of the stable's 3 runners.
Famous Liss (IRE)
Irish point winner at sixth attempt (sole finisher). Didn't take to fences after a respectable handicap hurdle debut at Hexham in spring 2025. Now reverts to hurdling and 18-month absence is naturally a concern.
Bruce Banner (IRE)
Defied long odds to make a successful hurdling debut at Musselburgh last November. Looked amiss on soft ground sole other start in this sphere. Operating below his best on the Flat more recently and has been handed a stiff-looking opening mark.
Nitty Gritty (IRE)
Best effort for Mark Walford when runner-up at Kelso (21f) in May. Left that yard following a poor run later that month and his patchy record doesn't inspire confidence on first start for new yard.
Gaelic Glow
Some promise in bumpers for Tom Weston. Ran to similar level as on handicap debut when 12 lengths fourth in first-time tongue strap on return at Uttoxeter (2m) last time. Now 2 lb lower with a run under his belt and worth another chance for yard that excels with this type.
Nobotheratall (IRE)
Course bumper winner who opened his hurdles account in Kelso novice in May. Stopped the slide in handicaps when 6½ lengths fourth of 10 at Newcastle latest, typically ridden positively/jumped right. May appreciate return to right-handed track and can have a say if building on last time.
Well Educated (IRE)
C&D-winning veteran. Went close to snapping a long losing run/adding a fifth Hexham victory there in June. Still in form when 10 lengths fourth at the same track last time (2½m), for all he looked typically moody beforehand (has been reluctant to start).
Heritier (FR)
Has fallen a long way in the weights since his latest success here (19f) in December 2024. Again showed no sign of taking advantage when well beaten once more at this course final start last season, however, he's still worth monitoring for each-way support off another career-low mark.
