IT'S ONLY A GAME and Werner are both very interesting hurdling debutants, with Martin Brassil's course bumper winner narrowly shading the vote. Leonard Vallis could also go well second time up over hurdles.

Timeform Comments

Bombay Pat (IRE)
Blue Bresil gelding. Dam (c114/h91), 2½m chase winner (stayed 2¾m), closely related to useful hurdler/very smart chaser (17f-3m winner) Aye Right. Finished 2½-length third to Ferocimo (since won novice hurdle) sole start in points. In good hands and worth noting for support.
Cetshwayo (IRE)
Vadamos gelding. Half-brother to numerous winners, including smart hurdler Mischievous Milly, stayed 21f, and useful hurdler/chaser Jersey Bean. Makes appeal on paper, however, yard isn't a frequent source of winning hurdle debutants.
Dusty Mills (IRE)
Yeats gelding. Dam 9f winner. Runner-up completed start in British points (Dec 2025). Likely one for the longer term, unless the market suggests otherwise.
Hill Of Berries (IRE)
Isn't badly bred, but he was notably weak in the betting when offering little on hurdling bow at Roscommon (2m, good to soft).
Issy's Lad (IRE)
Well beaten at long odds in a couple of maiden hurdles.
It's Only A Game (FR)
Borderline useful bumper performer who opened his account at this track. Probably best forgiven his run in the Champion Bumper (edgy in the preliminaries) at Cheltenham in March. Could take the beating on hurdling debut, provided first-time hood has the desired effect.
Katoomba (IRE)
Sent off at long odds/hinted at ability when mid-field in a Wexford maiden (17f, heavy). First-time hood added and likely a longer-term project for yard (also saddle Bombay Pat).
Leonard Vallis (FR)
Runner-up in an ordinary Gowran maiden on hurdling debut last autumn. Since developed into a fairly useful performer in bumpers, winning at Thurles in February prior to finishing fourth in a solid Fairyhouse event. In the conversation if he can translate that improvement to hurdles.
Walkineezy (IRE)
Has shown ability in bumpers/maiden hurdles and is a likely one for handicaps after this run.
Werner (GER)
Sea The Stars gelding. Half-brother to numerous winners, including useful hurdler/chase winner around 2m Wild Max. Dam 1¼m winner on Flat in Germany (also placed in Group 3). Decisive winner on his sole Flat start (1¾m) in Germany last summer. Intriguing newcomer for powerful connections.
View The Stars (IRE)
Bred to need time/distance and shaped accordingly when down the field on debut (100/1) at Down Royal (17f).
