PAWS FOR THOUGHT should have come on for his first run of the season here 5 weeks ago and is taken to follow up his 2023 success in this under Lucy Turner and land a seventh course win. Moon Beginnings is interesting back at the scene of his debut victory having returned to form at Carlisle in this headgear last time, while Spirit Genie could also go well.

Timeform Comments

Calyxoh (IRE)
Won at Newbury off 1 lb lower last summer for Charlie Clover but didn't pull up any trees in Meydan earlier this year. Starts out for another new stable that do well here, and Harry Swan is an interesting booking.
Spirit Genie (IRE)
Failed to strike in 2025 but well treated as a result and shaped well from the worst of the draw in a typically fiercely competitive 7f York handicap a month ago (nearest finish). Wide stall to overcome again but he's a C&D winner and a bold bid could be forthcoming.
King's School
A regular at Newcastle and readily won another 7f handicap there last month, beating Lord Capulet by a length. Career-high mark to overcome back on turf but can't be dismissed.
Lord Capulet (IRE)
Thriving, notching up a fifth win this year in 7f Redcar handicap before worn down late by King's School at Newcastle last time. Nudged up 2 lb but can go well again under good amateur.
Paws For Thought (IRE)
Fine record at Chester, notching up a sixth success here in September. Back from 7 months off and probably needed the run 5 weeks ago and should be much closer to form now. Won this in 2023 under Lucy Turner and bold bid could be on the cards.
Moon Beginnings (IRE)
Won C&D novice on debut in September from one now rated 100 and bounced back to form with cheekpieces fitted/front-running tactics employed when fifth at Carlisle a fortnight ago. On a good mark (2 lb lower) if he can build on that.
Kindest Nation (IRE)
Ran well on return here last season and put it all together when winning at Newcastle (7f) in November. Not a solid betting proposition though given she often loses her chance at the start.
Be Frank
Ran a few good races after his successful return at Newmarket last season and on a fair mark for reappearance. Has the widest draw to overcome, though.
Mission Command (IRE)
Hasn't won since his juvenile days but placed on several occasions this year. Faded in a first-time visor at Lingfield (6f) having been well backed last time and this is tougher in another change of headgear.
Hectic
Gained a first success for current yard at Ripon a year ago. Hasn't gone on from this season's reappearance, though has dropped down the weights and faces a quick turnaround having run at Pontefract on Monday after a breathing operation.
Maxi Boy
Not won for a while but shaped better than the distance beaten suggests back at 7f on first turf start this season when fourth at Doncaster, making his effort earlier than the trio that beat him. That form has worked out and he's respected from stall 1 after a 2 lb drop.
