Timeform View

MY BALLYQUINN deserves extra credit for getting off the mark at Hamilton and David O'Meara's progressive son of New Bay can defy a 3 lb rise in the weights here. Catterick scorer Cranachan also has better days ahead of him though and rates a big threat, while fellow handicap debutant Home Secretary can't be ruled out with improvement very much on the cards.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Home Secretary traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 4 starts.

Timeform Comments

Cranachan
Gelded and much improved this season, runner-up in Kempton maiden before readily landing the odds in 5-runner maiden at Catterick (1½m) in April. This well-related son of Cracksman is a player with more to offer now going into handicaps.
My Ballyquinn
New Bay colt. Took a step forward on his handicap bow when cosily landing 3-runner event at Hamilton (11f) last month, doing well given he conceded first run. Up 3 lb but runner-up has gone in since and still looks ahead of his mark here.
Asia Force (IRE)
Frankel colt who found only one too good on each of his 3 starts in novice company. Also posted a good third of 9 on his handicap debut at Chester 8 days ago. Likely he can do better still for good yard now stepping up in trip.
Central Command (IRE)
Visored and much improved to land 1¼m handicaps at Newcastle and Lingfield this season, doing well on latter occasion having conceded first run. Well held at Haydock inbetween though so needs to prove his effectiveness on turf.
Mudita (IRE)
Improved to win 1¼m maiden at Ripon in April but seemed unsuited by steady pace when only fifth of 6 on handicap debut at Nottingham (1¼m). Worth another chance.
Home Secretary
Cut little ice in his 4 runs last autumn, last of 9 in novice at Redcar (7f) final one. Since gelded and no surprise to see him take a major step forward now handicapping over this much longer trip. Cheekpieces also added.
