Timeform View

Preference is for KHORMOR SYD, who figures off a handy mark and didn't get the clearest of runs on his return to action here last week. Mr Perth, African Affair and Kodi Brown complete the shortlist in what looks an open contest.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Gentle Soda traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP twice and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 3 of its last 4 starts: Nottooshabby traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Anvika (IRE)
Capitalised on a reduced mark when taking 19-runner handicap over shorter trip at this course 5 days ago, well ridden. More on plate under 7-lb penalty but warrants respect.
Cracking Cloud
Largely run well in maidens, latest when creditable fifth of 14 at Roscommon (1½m, good to soft) in June. Worth monitoring in market on handicap debut.
Marjorie Daw (IRE)
Won at Gowran this time last year but proved mostly disappointing in handful of starts this season. Cheekpieces on first time.
Cladach (IRE)
Consistent sort who made the frame again when fourth of 5 in handicap over longer trip at Thurles 12 days ago. Likely to be in the mix again.
Doctor Grace (IRE)
Ended long losing run at Roscommon in May but rarely threatened since and makes limited appeal.
African Affair (IRE)
Much improved when winning 21-runner handicap at Navan (1¼m, good) 45 days ago, well on top finish. Raised 11 lb since but remains low mileage.
Local Lad (IRE)
Still a maiden and hasn't threatened in a light 2026 campaign.
Barrogstown Girl (IRE)
Won this contest in 2024 and placed twice on the Flat last year. Proved disappointing since, however, including over hurdles most recently. Cheekpieces on first time.
Khormor Syd (IRE)
Confirmed previous promise when scoring at Leopardstown in June and shaped better than bare result, back from 4 months off, when creditable 2½ lengths seventh of 19 to Anvika in handicap at this course 5 days ago. Shortlist material.
Kodi Brown (IRE)
Posted career best, back from 11 months off, when winning 16-runner handicap (9/1) at Navan (1¼m, good to soft) 13 days ago, readily. Raised 11 lb since but is not discounted here.
Max Meridius (IRE)
Posted career best when winning 14-runner handicap over longer trip at Thurles 12 days ago, driven clear. Raised 11 lb for that success but can't be discounted.
Servare (USA)
Much improved when readily landing 13-runner handicap at Navan (1¼m) in March but been found out off higher marks since. Work to do on first start since June with cheekpieces back on.
Gentle Soda (IRE)
Showed fair form in maidens and ran to similar level when creditable sixth of 12 in handicap at Killarney 15 days ago. More needed to play a part here.
Rough And Tough (IRE)
Dual winner at Gowran back in 2023 but is likely best watched on return from 3-year absence here.
Dark Summit
Winner in France but placed just once from 9 starts for Denis Hogan. However, much better for yard debut when third of 16 at Navan (1¼m, good to soft) 13 days ago and well treated if coming on again.
Elusive Duke (IRE)
On a losing run and he came in only thirteenth of 14 in 7f Dundalk handicap last time. Easy to look elsewhere.
Showyoutheropes (IRE)
A fair winner for Tom Clover in 2025 but rarely threatened for current yard this year. Dropped to a handy mark if first-time blinkers spark a revival in form.
Spy
Won over hurdles at Limerick this summer and stepped up markedly on latest Flat effort when creditable fifth of 12 in handicap over longer trip at Down Royal last month. This is more competitive, however.
Lamar Valley
Looked a work-in-progress in her qualifying runs and made more of an impact when fourth of 18 on handicap bow over C&D 23 days ago. Booking of Keane a plus.
Nottooshabby (IRE)
Brought along with handicaps in mind and posted best effort yet when very good second of 16 at Navan (1¼m, good to soft, 28/1) 13 days ago. May have more to give yet.
Mr Perth (IRE)
Found improvement, stepped up in trip, when good fourth of 16 in handicap (9/2) at Navan (1¼m, good to soft) 13 days ago. Remains low mileage and is not taken lightly.
Starting Monday (IRE)
Best effort for a while when winning at Gowran in April and ran to similar level when creditable second of 13 in handicap at Limerick (1m, heavy, 11/2) when last seen in June. Entitled to need this outing.
Ballysax Boo
Always behind in a trio of maidens this season and needs plenty of improvement to play a part on handicap debut.
Chloe's Boy (IRE)
Opened his account in lesser event over shorter trip at Punchestown last month and returned to form, in first-time blinkers, when creditable fifth of 16 in handicap (8/1) at Navan (1¼m, good to soft) 13 days ago. Can make presence felt.
My Mate Tony (IRE)
Little impact over hurdles and back on Flat recently. Best watched. RESERVE.
Walls Cross (IRE)
Cheap purchase who has little form in 6 runs to date. 1 lb out of the handicap. RESERVE.
Limestone Red (IRE)
Dundalk winner in January and largely in good heart of late, not enjoying a smooth passage when seventh of 14 in handicap at Down Royal 22 days ago. This is more competitive, though. 4 lb out of the weights. RESERVE.
